When we add milk while boiling tea leaves, the casein protein found in milk hampers proper absorption of antioxidants present in the tea leaves and also makes the tea more acidic. Boiling refined sugar during the tea making process is even more harmful as the sulfur dioxide present in sugar virtually turns into a potent toxin.So ideally we should boil tea leaves and other ingredients with water first and add milk and sugar separately and if not then at least add sugar in the end and do not boil the mixture after that!
