Matt from sloppy mechanics says it all the time about just finishing your projects. Unless you're going to be competing against the top 1% in motorsports it really doesn't need to be perfect. For example him cutting off the stock front suspension lay out to go to a custom coil over setup is just going to delay the project more and the coilovers could've been done later on down the road after the truck was running and he had a huge surge of motivation under his belt to go faster.

I'm 70 and my only welding experience prior to now had been stick. I'm now welding my 37 with a MIG. It's a learning experience. You mentioned warping from welding. My frame warped when I welded the boxing. Try as I may, i couldn't get it straight so I have cut all the boxing loose to allow bending the frame back. When I do weld it again, I will be putting some bracing in. I purchased a center section from Welderseries as I have no tube bending capabilities. That should help keep things in line, I hope.

If you hose the floor down before you spray the pain it washes off really easy afterwards. Don't have it so wet that there are puddles or anything though, just wet enough so that your air hose doesn't drip when you pick it up and move it. Glad to see some progress on the machine though.

The struggle of painting cages is real. When I do mine, early a.m. / slow reducer/ knock out joints and hard to reach areas / low air / one quick coat. Then start outside first to the inside. It basically looks like I'm spaying powder coat. Hi material waste and your floor will be covered black. Shoes stuck to the floor. But perfect is perfect.

Great to see progress on the truck , as regards to the paint, if a slower thinner and hardner is available use that overspray settling will be less of an issue, and with the spray gun itself an hvlp setup would further reduce overspray issues , but it looks killer cant wait to see more progress in the future

I do a little paint work. It’s because you where using primer. Primer drys really fast. That’s why you get a lot of dry over spray. You should really put some paint on it because the primer will break down after some time with out a top coat of actual paint. Keep up the hard work. I know it’s a lot but your doing really good. Just get some actual paint on top of the primer. I’d hate to see you have to do it over. Stay strong 💪 and keep moving forward

Check and see if the epoxy has uv protectant if it doesnt it will chalk out to a darkish grey, great work and you can tell your skillfull in manyways. Id topcoat the epoxy with a urethane or next project look into a dtm "direct to metal" paint. There usually a polyurethane base and hold up extremly well. Im a structural steel painter and deal will alot of tubing projects and bridges and building structural. Youve got the right idea with your over spray techniques its just epoxy that drys quick and hard to keep wet depending on thinner types. 👍
