I have watched all kinds of videos for learning to do a granny square, a c2c blanket, etc. Every single time, Jayda's videos allowed me to be successful. I have became a much more confident crocheter because of her. I am very grateful! Thank you, Jayda!

I've looked at numerous crochet channels and yours is a Cut Above the Rest. You explain everything very clearly and do so over and over using different ways to describe the same thing which is extremely helpful for a beginner like me. I'm a 65 year old guy that decided, for reasons even I don't fully understand (!), I wanted to learn how to crochet ... and now I'm working on my first baby blanket following your corner to corner tutorial and my wife is stunned and how good it looks! She's going to a baby shower in two days and is going to give the blanket to my niece for the baby boy she's expecting. I'm finding crochet to be incredibly relaxing and it's gratifying to be able to make something with my own hands that I can give to someone as a gift. Thank you so much for the excellent tutorials.

@@JaydaInStitches you're certainly welcome and there's more to the story of the baby blanket ... my wife just gave it to my niece this past weekend and she was blown away. And my wife said the 25 women in the room where all thrilled and shocked that her husband had actually handmade a blanket. Fun stuff.

I agree as well. I noticed another tutorial for CtoC where the teacher was saying that she got so many emails from people who didn’t understand how to do it. Wow! You've made this SO easy - thank you, thnk you. This c2c crochet has always been a mystery to me, but you have de-mystified it for me. You're such a good teacher - so patient, explaining everything as you go along, making it so easy to follow along. Can't wait to try something bigger than my little sample piece. I made the Old Country Bridges wrap following your instructions and, although it took me all summer, picking it up, working a few rows, putting it down, going back to it, it's now finished, locked and beautiful. It's going to my sister for her birthday early next year.

I love this pattern!! I’m making an adult Blanket with it. I’ve only just now gotten the decrease stitch after having to unravel 140 stitches twice lol

I started decreasing at 70 rows. Sadly I didn’t finish the entire video and was decreasing on one side and increasing on the other. Instead of stopping at 70 rows I now have 103 rows. 🤦🏻♀️ lol

I keep finding lots of these C to C blankets but their all for baby blankets. I’m trying to make it bigger, lots bigger yet no video has explained the concept. I know I have to decrease at some point but I’m not understanding at which point you have to decrease both sides. I am more than happy to purchase a pattern as long as it’s really clear. I’ll keep looking.

Hi Rosi, C2C is delightfully the same concept whether you're working 6 square inches or 60. In this video we explain that the width of the blanket is defined by that bottom edge, so you work the increase pattern on both ends until that bottom edge (when you lay the blanket down so that you're looking at the flat edge and the right angle) measures your target blanket width. This does not have anything to do with row counts because yarn weight, hook size and personal tension can vary so much. You just keep increasing until your target width is hit. THEN, you work the rectangle or "straight" part of the blanket until the long side reaches your target blanket length. The magic is that the bottom edge never grows. Again, row count doesn't matter here, just your target measurement. Once your blanket length measurement has been reached you begin to decrease on both sides. This squares off the blanket and brings the other long edge up to match the first one. It's really neat! I recommend you try a small version of a rectangle to get comfortable with the concept: 1. increase on both sides for 3 rows. 2. increase on only the increase side (marked with stitch marker - explained in video) for 3 rows. 3. decrease on both sides for 3 rows to finish. Have fun!

Hi I want to create a afghan for my grandson's bed, he's got a single size bed. 1. I don't know what the measurement would be, you may know this, 2. I wouldn't know where to start to decrease on my pattern. You are really amazing at this Jayda, and I want to thank you for teaching me a new pattern that I absolutely fell in love with. This one is all new to me, and I love challenges. I have Bernat pop yarn and it's so beautiful and soft. I should add, the yarn is #4 medium, I'm using a J10/6mm crochet needle. The color is just beautiful.

Hi Mary, we have a standard blanket sizing chart over on our website on the TOOLS page (you'll find the link to our website in the description box and the different pages are listed across the top of our homepage). Once you have the measurements, keep your measuring tape handy and work the increase pattern to the desired width, then the straight part of the pattern to the desired length then square it off with the decrease part of the pattern :)
