Great tip on the switches, never knew they screwed in that way👍 Wondering now why the difference with the 2 wire / 3 wire

Yeah, it's a bit confusing since there are different color wires between the two switches with the exception of white wires. But hey, I managed to get my courtesy lights to work so I'm a happy camper. lol 😆. Thank you for watching! 🙂👍🏻

My ‘82 has a factory alarm, maybe yours does too and maybe that’s what the extra wires are for.

Wow. Never considered that since they had an aftermarket alarm (I’m getting rid of it ), but maybe that’s why they spliced into some of the courtesy light wires. I’ll have to research that but thank you for bringing that up to my attention. Excellent point! 😊👍🏻

I believe the 3 wire connectors on the driver side , is for the factory alarm . It lets the alarm know when you close the drivers and lock it

The tube length self adjusts after the door is fully closed. When you buy them new sometimes the tube is sticking out alot.

The drivers side with 3 terminals would allow you to connect another accessory that you wanted to come on when u open the door.

Hi In my corvette the interior lights always stay on, even with the doors closed. I tried unplugging the switches but they stay on. I also tried cleaning the contacts but it doesn't work.

Is the headlight on/off switch (also used to dim instrument lights) turned all the way to the left? If so, turn it a bit to the right to turn off the always-on setting. Otherwise, it may be a defective headlight switch.

Yes, i tried also with that but they stay ever on... Probably at this point it is the headlights switch. Thank you

Also if your car is a later-model C3 with the time-delay courtesy lights, it may be the module, so you may want to remove it and test it or bypass it. If that solves the issue then you know. kzitem.info/news/bejne/umuXzWSoj6Z9e6Qsi=bLTTDqbWWv9_FAOc fast-forward to 4:54
