I decided to listen to this song as if I were hearing it for the first time, as if my first impression of it wasn't constructed in a pixelated blocky world. I let it take me somewhere else. It took me to a rainy place with cobbled roads and little houses standing shoulder to shoulder. A little foggy window in a nook overlooking a flowerbed on the wall just outside. A narrow dirt path leading to a little cottage surrounded by evergreen trees, freshly blanketed with white snow. It's amazing how a song can tell so many different stories.

I liked your idea and here is what I imagined 🙏🏻 I see a bright blue sky covered in snow-like clouds, all over a peaceful meadow surrounded by many trees. There are deer & squirrels & plenty of birds living and experiencing their natural home. The sun begins to set and we are all reminded of the beauty that is this world.. We find peace in our sadness, which is life. The stars begin to shine as the sky's paintings fade. We rest by a fire while gazing in awe.. We take a sip of our freshly brewed tea and bundle up in a blanket. We close our eyes and take a deep breath. This is peace ❤

you guys, minecraft is still here. you can still make more memories with more people more than ever and still have that same feeling you had when you were younger on the console or pc. i can tell you this because i still get on mc everyday with my friends and make new builds or play on new servers. and the feeling never changed. minecraft is waiting for you, including all the opportunities it has. edit: whoa, I didn't expect this comment to blow up. and i feel you guys. nostalgia hits me like a truck when i hear this song. sometimes i wish i could go back and play Minecraft on the 360 with all my friends. we'd all huddle up close to the tv screen because the splitscreen made everything so small, and the resolution was too low and we couldn't see how many blocks we had until we opened up our inventory. being a child certainly makes a lot of things more exciting. but I'm still young and naive and hope for the better. thank you for the replies.

I think Wikipedia has your answer: The word nostalgia is learned formation of a Greek compound, consisting of νόστος (nóstos), meaning "homecoming", a Homeric word, and ἄλγος (álgos), meaning "pain" or "ache", and was coined by a 17th-century medical student to describe the anxieties displayed by Swiss mercenaries fighting away from home.

Bottles, warts, creams, sugars, powder, Golden fruits and vegetables. fine elixirs for the journeys ahead. My hands wet from the labor. Lake full of fish, cod and salmon. I really, truly appreciate how soft and warm this sounds. Having the piano cover open and having the mic pick up every aspect of the sound, the gentle playing, and letting it completely ring out at the end are all incredibly comforting and nice. Thank you for making this cover.

You are probably one of the best people I've seen this played. I think this slower, yet more ambient version really makes it seem like you're hearing this in person. Well done.

this cover just kept me mesmerized the whole way through there sure is a lot of beauty in simplicity, isn't there? when I listen to it I just feel like I want to appreciate the sound to its fullest, keeping my muscles as still as possible, and listening carefully. even after the video is over, I'm still speechless. it's such an undescribable experience.

I don’t always leave a comment on your videos but I’m always thoroughly amazed with the beauty in the simplicity of your music. I’ve learned some of your songs and covers just by watching these videos and I play them for the residents of my local geriatric care-centre. My friends also always love hearing your songs. (Don’t worry I don’t steal I always send them directly to your channel 😁)

When I listened to this all of the memories came flowing back in. I used to play Minecraft Pocket Edition with my older brother back in the day (2013). We absolutely sucked at the game at the time, but we ignored that. We would build small houses out of birch wood and we used the duplication glitch that if two people took and item out a chest at a time, it would double the item. My brother soon moved farther and farther apart from each other, and we went our separate ways. It makes me cry so hard when I think back to the old days, because well, my brother and I fight all the time whenever we're together, so listening to this is one of the last things that makes me happy. C418 is my biggest idol for what hes done to my life.

this song is so simple, yet it gives me a feeling i can't discribe. the constant loop in the bass, the simple yet incredibly powerfull melody, the slow and quiet nature of the song, the hundreds of memories this brings back, it all comes together to form one masterpiece that no words can discribe.

all i can think of after reading these comments, is how i will miss playing minecraft with my little brother once we’ve both graduated and moved on with our lives. So many memories. 360 days to pocket edition with friends and family and making crappy youtube videos, to the xbox live version and watching popularmmos, syndicate project, Ihascupquake etc., to now where everyone's harmoniously playing this game together. Now this is my breather game, too much toxicity I go to Minecraft, burnt out from a game, I go to minecraft, need something chill and relaxing to play, I go to minecraft. Such a wonderfully simple yet beautiful game with so much history and popularity. It will forever have a place in my heart.

Thank you for this. It gave me a little more hope since I didn't want to play the piano after years worth of emotional abuse and trauma attached to it. Minecraft has always been more than a game to me and seeing one of my favorite pianists cover this song made me feel lighter. Maybe I'll come back. I hope, and for real this time.
