I’d be like a kid in a candy store there. Thanks for the tour. 👍🏻

@@WhiskyMystery they were short so I ended up getting a Tomatin 13 year cask strength warehouse tasting whisky from their Campbeltown store 55.7%. Fresh bourbon since 2020. Can’t wait to try it. I also grabbed a Glentaucers 12 60% hogshead bottle from the board

I'm jealous, I couldn't visit them when I was in Edinburgh last year (we lost 1,5 hour with stupid practical issues at the airport), many things interesting there on the paper....me "if I could" I would have taken the Caledonian 28 yo (one of my 3 favorite Scottish grain distilleries), one of the Royal Brackla, a Glen Spey & a Caribbean Rum & one or two 20 cl Springbank's from the Committee selection...Cheers, guys !

I’m amazed at your self control. 😂 My biggest fear is that I’m gonna end up having to dump all my clothes in order to fit all the whisky bottles in my luggage for the trip home

Captain 3D hahaha awesome! 😄 Im gonna be bringing over a good number of bottles so I’m gonna “try” to limit my number of return bottles to the same. Hopefully it works out. 😂 Out of curiosity, did you declare on your way into England &, if so, was the duty pretty hefty?
@WhiskyMystery

@@jaychung6622 yes we declared. For each person there is a 1 ltr allowance. We were 8 ltr over :-). The bill was going to be £115 approx (£11 ish per bottle) but our credit card failed to read three times and eventually they just said go ahead for free. Also you can fit 10 -11 bottles in a case with nothing but bubblewrap and just stay under the 23kg limit. Few bottles per case is probably safer. Good luck

Captain 3D oh that’s right! You mentioned that in a video! 😂😂 Hopefully I get lucky too (but I doubt it. Haha). I’m currently experimenting w/ fitting almost all my clothes in a carry-on to keep the checked luggage open enough weight-wise. 🤣 Seems like you guys are having/had an awesome trip! Thanks for the advice!

Prices on their board seemed pretty decent! Shame they don't list what casks (bourbon/wine etc) they've come from. If only they had the 'serve yourself' infinity bottles 😜

Captain 3D oooooh nice! I haven’t tried a CS Ben Nevis 10. I’ve only had the standard bottling, but it’s one of my absolute favorites. I did have a CS signatory Ben Nevis 8yr (maybe it was 7?) that was delicious as well.

Captain 3D Well, that’s definitely one to bring back home! I am a huge fan of the standard Ben Nevis 10 @46%, but the CS Batch 1 is much more richer and intense. And still that characteristic ‘dirty’ Ben Nevis taste note. Taste heaven. I’ve have tasted it three separate times at my liquor store. But I still find it hard to justify the price tag of around €110/£100 as I picked up my standard Ben Nevis 10 for just €40. So last time at the store I bought the newly released Ben Nevis MacDonald’s Traditional (which is an official peated Ben Nevis) instead.

@@jaychung6622 this one is different, with some wine barrels involved...it seems to be good but less accomplished than the current ("very unregular"*) 10 yo...For more (as I haven"t open my 46 % bottle one, & probably won't get the other), *I strongly recommend the read of both 10 yo at 46 % & the CS one reviews on Ruben Luyten's blog "Whisky Notes"...One of the best whisky writers around, along with Serge Valentin ("Whisky Fun").

Greg's Whisky Guide Ah thank you for the information Gregoire! I just read Ruben’s write up & it now makes sense to me why that standard 10 is so lovely. In the end, I’m probably still going to try this CS release (if it’s reasonably priced) just bc I do love Ben Nevis. And now that I know it’s completely different, maybe I won’t be put off by the wine influence. I wish I could find more of the CS signatory I had. Sure it was very young but it had the most wonderful texture & was pure peach candy w/ spice. Fantastic
