A fantastic tutorial.. Ive watched alot of vehicle painting tutorials for leman russes but the weathering and grim detail you go into. Is something no one else really does as good as you. Great video!

Will definitely be trying this out on the Tank Commander I've been putting off for months! Only thing I plan different is an oil wash instead of recess shade, since I've recently discovered those and am currently in love lol

Nice! My friend who goes by Cadian Shock does oil washes too with excellent results. Honestly, I think his tanks look better than my own 😄

Absolutely great mud effect on the tracks! 👍First I thought, why you ruined the good work so far with this low budget, reddish-brown texture paste, but the end result looks absolutely amazing, this section of the video could be a standalone video, on how to make awesome mud effects on tanks 👍

I just recently used the sticky tack method I saw here. Still sad that Castellan Green is easy to rub off. Always doing a final touchup on the green.

I know this video is old but this is probably the best tutorial I've seen so far and I have a question. Is the putty re usable?
@CadianSergeantSteel

Yes, it is! It'll usually last 3 to 10 times. Just depends on how much paint you end up mixing into it.

Someday plan to start a Imperial guard army. Do Leman Rus kits come with all the gun options? And do they normally come with a guy that can lookiut of the top hatch? And is the Servi Skull something from the kit? I never see people have those.

Luv your videos. I don’t have an airbrush and thin down my paints, but still get brush marks any tips for removing without stripping and starting over?
@CadianSergeantSteel
5 ай бұрын
If they are subtle, make it an opportunity to hide them with weathering such as chipping, rust, mud, dust, soot, etc. I do that myself when I find brush strokes on my vehicles. To prevent them, it really is a lot of really thin layers which is tough with most paints. For example, I often have to apply Castellan Green in 3 to 4 thin coats to not have brush strokes.

Thank you for the tips and I will add weathering as suggested. Unless you hold the vehicle close up and under the light they’re not too noticeable, but I’m my worst critic.

Oh, I would so go for the weathering route to conceal them more. It's helps me decide where to put my chipping effect 😁

What would be a great replacement for the Exhaust black?

Any of the black pigments but even more so a black one marketed as a weathering powder because they stick better. I also use the one from Huge Miniatures.
