I was going to go this route for my v8 s10 build. I ended up getting some blazer spindles pretty cheap. Now I do not have to worry about packing wheel bearings anymore.

The OEM bolt on hubs are a good choice, I mainly went this route for the aluminum calipers vs steel ones.

This applies to pre-98 S-10 spindles, IIRC. I had my rotors turned down and ordered longer studs. I'm running 98-02 F-body (6cyl/V8 are the same) calipers and rotors. Needs at least a 16" wheel, I'm told. There's a good how to thread on S10forums. It also includes a picture for the adapter bracket with measurements. Brake hose should go on top so you can more easily bleed the brakes.

Sorta on the years. The 2WD Trucks/Blazers from 82-97 use these spindles. The 98-end year(04?) 2WD Trucks use these same spindles. The 98+ 2WD Blazers are the ones that use a different spindle with a bolt on hub bearing assembly. I have all the spindle versions sitting in my junk pile....I mean rare parts storage area.

This was a nice swap. I really liked that you can keep the 15 in wheels. Could you break it down and make a parts list .

Parts are : 98-02 Camaro Rotors, Conversion Hubs, and caliper conversion brackets. S10 stock spindles - cut for clearance. 04-08ish CTS Calipers and Abutment brackets (JE5 brake option) All the other small parts are stock S10 like the bearings, seals, dust caps, cotter pins.

You said you were using a stock 15" wheel with this setup or are the 16's? Again with all of the different info out there I read you have to have 16" minimum but maybe that's because of using drop spindles?
@wilsworkshop
2 жыл бұрын
They're the stock 15's. Clearance is super tight, maybe 1/8" if I'm lucky, but zero issues with around 5000 miles on them. Drop spindles shouldn't make a difference for caliper clearance since the mounting holes are relative with the center of the hub. There's also a couple different versions of the stock 15" rims. There's a good chance some of the later year 15's might not be identical in regards to the inner diameter of the rim.

@wilsworkshop

Yep, stock booster. There's actually plenty of clearance at least on the earlier second gen's with "rear wheel" only ABS. The only modification I had to make was to offset the rear driver side coil pack forward on the bracket about 1". I think it's in one of my videos but if not, it'll be in one I upload soon.
