Living beyond the diagnosis, CABAN
The Caban group panel will include both people living “as well as possible” with their dementia diagnosis and their supporters. The presentation will include examples of how they have navigated the experiences of the diagnosis and the coping strategies that implement to maintain their own resilience over time in the last decade. Delegates will certainly receive a memorable 30 minutes in the company of the Caban members: Chris, Dory, Jim, Ronnie, Jayne, Mary, Emma and Catrin.
Catrin Hedd Jones is a bilingual dementia studies lecturer at the University of Bangor. After a PhD looking at parenting, she moved to DSDC to research older adults and intergenerational programmes. Catrin established the North Wales Dementia Network and Caban group in 2017 and has been privileged to work alongside the members to educate the students and researchers. Delegates can also gain a glimpse of their impact in the panel discussion.
