Really nice dialog. Appreciate your work. I'm at the A1+ lvl. I learn by myself only. It is difficult, but I think learning language is like world discovering. Guys, I wish you all achievements in your plans and intentions) Thanks for the video🙂

It's still A2 but perfected A2. If it was B1, you would get clear hints. Like usage of more trennbare verben i.e ich liebe vor instead of ich mag, terms like damals dafuer damit wofuer wovon woraus etc.

Correct me if I’m wrong here. Was German one of the primary languages to learn post WW2? So if it wasn’t for the Nazis coming in we would be speaking more German in the Americas?

In case anybody doesn't know the difference: the soil where coffee plants grow effects the flavor of the bean - Colombian coffee has a more acidic (sour) taste. Brazilian will have a deeper flavor, like a nutty cocoa... Ok ok... now back to the language learning.

Thanks, this is quite helpful, but why did your characters duzen before they hardly knew each other? Is siezen really so uncommon these days? And, what I especially want to know: as a tourist in German-speaking countries, wouldn't I mostly be addressing people with Sie?
@MrLAntrim
Жыл бұрын
In Berlin (where I meant for this to take place), it is quite common for younger people to use du with one another without ever using Sie. While studying at Humboldt University in 2009 it was so common that even my professors (who were not young) told us on day 1 to use du with them. Siezen is still the standard and what you should use when talking with most people as a tourist.

@@MrLAntrim I see. I've watched a number of German (& Italian) instruction videos that seem to have foreign tourists uppermost in mind but which seldom feature the formal you. As an elderly American tourist intent on presenting a favorable impression of Americans to my foreign hosts, this is frankly a bit frustrating to me. (IOW, I hear so much informal usage that I have to take extra pains to avoid similar phrasing when addressive strangers.) Anyway, thanks for the clarification.
