Her 3 point shooting percentage has been low the past few games. But as others have mentioned, she could use a rest, needs to heal her eardrum, needs to adjust for changes in her muscle tone from weight training, and needs better support from her team on screens and drawing defenders away from her. Some of these issues will be solved by the Olympic break. Others could be solved by a competent coach but I don't see that happening this season.

I think the Olympic break is going to do wonders for her shot. I think the reason her outside shooting has fallen off a little bit is because she is playing on tired legs due to the fact that she essentially went from the Final Four to the WNBA season with no break in between. Caitlin Clark, with 213 total assists, is already 11 assists ahead of where Alyssa Thomas was last year at this point in the season. Thomas went on to set a new regular season record with 328 assists. Barring injuries and assuming her team continues to make layups and open shots with some consistency, Clark has a very good chance of setting a new record. If she maintains her current pace of 8.2 assists per game, she will finish the year with 318 assists. Personally, I believe her team is starting to find their rhythm, which could lead to even higher assist numbers. It should be an exciting journey to watch!

Regarding Caitlin Clark vs. Sue Bird... it's not even close. In Sue Bird's rookie year, she only had 191 assists all season. Caitlin already has 213 assists. Sue is a legend, but her best year for assists was 2018 when she averaged 7.1 assists per game, totaling 221 for the season. Caitlin is poised to surpass that next game. The WNBA has never seen a passer like Caitlin Clark. She passes and shoots like the best male players, making her incredibly fun to watch. There are other great WNBA players who can shoot lights out, but no one has ever been as exciting to watch as Caitlin. For her, it's not just about the shot-it's about how she delivers precision assists, setting up her teammates for wide-open shots... though they sometimes still miss. But it's always fun to watch.

She makes the WNBA very fun to watch when she is playing. Today she is clearly not as good as Bird in her prime. But let's have a peek at Bird's rookie year. 14.4 points/game. 2.6 rebounds. 1.7 steals (that will be hard to top but CC is in the neighborhood), 6 assists, 0.1 blocks... um... imagine if CC improves like Bird did. Is CC really not good enough for the olympic team? Add to the ability the star power. Who would you rather watch on the olympic team than CC? A player of Caitlin s style will always have turnovers. She passes with pin point accuracy and with velocity and these players are not used to a player like Caitlin. I'm not saying Caitlin is perfect but you can tell her teammates are still trying to get used to her passing abilities. Alot of the Fever loses have been l caused by them and not necessarily the opposing team. Fever team misses to many quality shots. However, if this team stays in tact for at least 2 seasons and maybe add an "Enforcer" type player, they will be automatic championship contenders, my opinion.

The rest, just missed. Last night was a hard watch because Smith was off her game. I like Smith. I think Smith is a baller. I'm not a fan of Wheeler. I wanna be but at this point, no. I don't mind Lexy coming off the bench. I like her hustle but neither she or Katie Lou is a consistent the 5th player. I don't think the 5th player/starter is on the bench. I hope they prove me wrong. They have a hole in their lineup. I don't know who they could go after to fill that hole. Boston, Mitchell, Smith & Clark seem pretty solid.

Wish you'd quit qualifying your CC analysis with AR compliments. You don't have to do that. It's like drug comercials on TV, they spend so much times listing the side effects, you don't know the actual desired effect

smh. So everyone is happy with a loss? You talk about AR stat padding, but we just witnessed CC get all those assist, and they are still freaking loose the gam. I'd rather see her get 15- 20 points , 8 assist, and win the freaking game..I.dont think this type of system will when championships where 1 player does everything and freezes out the other teamates.
