Caitlin can shoot 3s, she can drive, she can bounce pass, she can long pass, she can shoot free-throws, she can rebound, she can steal, she can block, she can fill the seats, she can increase TV views, she can interview well, she looks good in designer clothes, etc.,…. She’s the whole package like no other. A’ja is very good. Diana T is outstanding. Kelsey Plum is very talented. Sabrina Ionescu is a baller. Breanna Stewart is fantastic. I could go on listing numerous great WNBA players, but none have done what CC has done, especially in their rookie years. Serena, Venus and Coco didn’t do it right away. MJ, Magic, and Bird, were somewhat popular early on, but it took time before they captured the country’s attention like CC. Tiger is the closest to doing what Caitlin has done. Tiger and CC single-handedly blew up attendance in their respective sports, and started out hot from the beginning of their professional careers, earning accolades when they were still amateurs. Can anyone else in the WNBA come close to what CC has done? Appreciate CC. Don’t kill the golden goose. “Generational” talent? Heck, we may NEVER see a phenom like Caitlin. She’s not perfect, and she’s not the best at everything. But no female baller is the complete package like Caitlin.

Her passing is off the charts. Yes, she has a lot of TO's but she's a gun slinger...she makes passes literally no one else in the league does, and she does it multiple times every damn game. There are some folks that just won't admit how good this young woman is. I kind of disagree with Cheryl about Caitlin's handles, I think they could be better. They're getting better but they're not as secure as I'd like to see them. But I agree she doesn't need a screen to get off her shot, yet I read people on particular types of channels that say she "can't create her own shot." It's just mind-boggling the type of stuff they say. And also, because of what she looks like people that look like us shouldn't support her and should support some other rookie over her. That's just not how I see the world. I see Caitlin as a basketball player. I'm really glad to see a sista come out in support of Caitlin. Game should be the only thing to consider. Unfortunately, even though they managed to pull victory from the jaws of defeat, they seem to have taken a step back in the Lynx game and I'm thinking it was probably "coach" sides' stupid instructions to slow the game down that caused it. The team was not rushing the ball up court, especially on missed shots, and CC was unable to take advantage of those bad shots by Minnesota, wasn't able to utilize her own speed and the lack of an up tempo game plan allowed a very good defensive team like the Lynx the time to continually get that defense set. How many times was CC running up court only to have to wait for her teammates to catch up? Slowing down the game made the game much harder than it needed to be and helped depress CC's, and her teammates numbers, throughout the it. Fortunately, she took over in the 4th and bailed everyone, including her coach, out.

You can tell when a girl has been playing with boys and men a lot. The passes she makes are good, they're just not use to getting them. As you can see, Boston has started catching them. Played with some good women in the gym that can handle those and position themselves well to receive. Tamika Catchings, Ashley Robinson, Debra Rodman and even Sheryl at the rec @ Texas Tech. When watching the games, Mitchell has missed some passes, but you can tell she wants chest passes. Some player just don't handle quick bounce passes well and they have to be more mindful of coming to the ball. They'll be really good once everything really syncs. If Clark and Reese switched teams, you would see a difference because I think they could handle those passes better.

@exthereon6916

There is a lot of talk about the turnovers. Here’s my take. Yes she does try passes that just aren’t on. But it’s cause her brain is working so much faster on a basketball level than most of those around her. She will learn what her team mates are capable of and what they aren’t. She plays the game so much faster than just about everyone that even her team mates are struggling to keep up. Hence the TO’s where Caitlin is passing the ball to where she expects them to be… it’s just their brain takes a second longer to see the same opportunity and so they miss getting to the ball. Obviously that only equates to maybe half her turn overs. But if you create like she does you will have turnovers. Add her points and assists together though and the turnovers just aren’t really important. BUT she will get better!
