Look at Taurasi trying to keep up with CC. It’s time to retire Diana. Don’t let your age ruin what you were able to once do. There is no competition for rookie of the year! The WNBA doesn’t want a white girl to be the face of the league. They have done everything to try and slow her down. She has the toughest schedule of any rookie in history as well as faced more hate just because she I a great white and straight girl doing her thing. As a black man raised loving basketball I’ve never watched women’s basketball till about 3 1/2 years ago when CC started cooking on the court. She brought me to watch the women’s game. That’s an amazing task in its self. Don’t ever let someone tell you that black folks can’t be racist because they can be more racist than any other group out there. I have a bunch of family that hate whites just because their skin color. They give me hell because my mom taught me to look at a person character not the color of the skin. It’s ridiculous to her people like swoops just throw hate at this girl because she is white.

Bro why do you think its neck and neck for rookie of the year. Its not a race thing its a basketball thing angel isn't a guard she's putting up double doubles almost every night rebounding blocking and scoring. Clark is doing what her position is asking her to do and she's ballin the same for Reese as a forward. If Reese had a balling as guard on her team it would be no discussion about what's going on the court. Nobody said shit when Michael had to fight through the pain he leveled up and made the whole league his bitch. Yall just so whiney whiney when it comes to females doing anything this is sports this is what she signed up for. It's koo to throw her flowers but please understand the game before you start the hate. Cause Lisa Leslie was the reason I started watching the wnba.

If caitlins scored a little bit more she'd be a MVP candidate not even ROTY candidate and she's 12th in scoring Losing to names like: Wilson, Ionescu, Stewart, Plum, Griner.

Caitlin Clark is LEADING the team! Fever probably a couple players away from making a serious playoff run. Draft, trade or someone “stepping up” like Kelsey Mitchell are all avenues. Aliyah Boston will also be key (was a #1 O/A pick). For the Fever the best thing to happen recently was CC not being picked for Team USA. (But for Phoenix, this was disadvantageous.) IMO C Clark was hitting the “rookie wall” physically. If Clark, Mitchell and one other (Boston, Smith, …) play well together IMO Fever will make the playoffs. They’ll probably make a 1st round exit. Think of this as C Clark’s fresh year at IOWA - getting to know each other. Ideally, next season Clark, Boston, Mitchell and 1 or 2 others will read each other’s minds like IOWA last season. But IMO Fever still need a defensive specialist who can drop 3s and smother a player like G Marshall. (Disclaimer: Marshall was my fav Hawkeye for her relentless energy on D and on-court demeanor.)
@lucasmelee

@@petegregory517 hi, since you asked with good intent i will yap a little: we gotta wait for the end of regular season But i will compareher to Aja Wilson's rookie season because the MVP is basically hers at this point. So it's fair since people expect CC to be the future GOAT, we gonna put her numbers against the best player this year. Aja Wilson ended her rookie year averaging 20/8/2 vs Caitlin's 18/6/8 so far. Aja's had a FG46% against Caitlin's 40% but Aja is a center so I will say that CC's 40%, as a guard, are way more impressive. caitlins is 89% on free throws against aja's 77% Aja never NEVER attempted to shoot a 3-pointer for FOUR years, and the only reason she has a decent percentage today is because she almost never take em, the most 3pt she ever took was in 2022 where she went 31-83. Caitlin is freaking 75-228 on 3 pointers, 40.9%, steph curry's career average is 42,8% so she's slightly worse than steph on 3 points, I think I dont need to say more about shooting. Aja clears CC in all defensive stats except steals where CC has 1.4 against aja's 0.8 but again, guard are more likely to get assists same way you expect centers and forwards to have more rebounds and blocks, nothing abnormal here. The turnover thing is the biggest strawman argument that a certain player's fandom use because CC has the ball for most of the time in her team, again it's a matter of their roles, Aja is listed as a center, she doesnt do the plays neither she is guarded coast to coast like we have seen with CC the WHOLE season, she starts her posessions with someone already pressuring her and she is double teamed more than probably any other player in the league. Which explais why Aja har only 1.4 turnovers and CC is on a absurd 5.6 which I agree it's a lot and it has to change, we shit on Russell Westbrook and the highest he ever averaged was 4.3, it's also worth mentioning: several of those turnover are passes that her teammates are too bad at catching or arent expecting her to be able to pass there. More playtime together should improve that caitlin will average way more playing time, Aja average 30min, caitlins is almost averaging 36 that's a big diff I know it's a stretch but if she keep at this rate, this will be one of the best rookie seasons of the decade and if caitlin keeps improving, she will be the best player in the league very soon.

Although I think she deserves it, if she’s overlooked I wouldn’t be surprised. Still, it won’t take away from her record breaking performance thus far. She’s already broken many “rookie” records and is fast becoming the leader and MVP of her team. Unfortunately it would just give the “media pundits” more ammunition for negative and divisive commentaries that have nothing to do with basketball but more to do about opinions and preferences and personalities.

2nd half problem is Coach Sides. She kills the momentum all the time. She puts Wheeler in and that slows the game down and screws up the rythum of the game. Run, run, don't slow down. Sides has been doing this all season. Sides doesn't know how to coach. She's lost out there. Doesn't know how to sub players. Sides needs to go. Fever need a coach who knows what she's doing.

Yes, Caitlin and Michell played great basketball, Aliyah Boston was good, too. The team play in the first and second quarter was the best, but when Caitlin, Aliyah and Michell have to sit out, there's a weak spot. They have to have another two backups when they are sitting out. You could see they lost their rhythm, and PHOENIX came back. They have to work on getting their team compact, so tight that no light gets in, and that comes with practice, bringing every player up to Caitlin's and Michell's plus Boston's fast game, so when they are taking a time out they don't loose sight of the game, Caitlin is a team player and leader, and when the rest of the team accept that and work together they will be unbeatable, the coach is getting better. 😊

You hit it on the nose. The Fever needs bench players that can come in and score 12-15 points while the main 3 come in for a rest. Hull, Wheeler, Berger & Dante must score while the others are on the bench. Once we can get a productive bench, the Fever will be unstoppable

Obviously Clark will win ROY in a landslide! If she keeps playing like this and gets the Fever higher in the standings with a fairly high seed for the playoffs, along with finishing with a higher scoring average and leading the league in assists, then she will definitely receive a lot of votes for MVP. Keep in mind, A'ja Wilson who is the favorite to win MVP, who plays with other three teammates from this year's Olympic team, as opposed to Caitlin Clark who has zero Olympic players on the Fever. Furthermore, the Aces had the best record in 2023 and won the championship compared to the Fever having the worst record last year and now are only 5.5 games behind the Aces. What CC is doing to elevate the Fever this year, is significantly more impressive than what A'ja Wilson is doing, along with her three Olympic teammates on the Aces, in going from the best team last year, to being only the third best team this season in the standings.

You haven't been watching these games. Connecticut Suns own this team with defensive speed. What talent do you see on the Fever besides CC and Boston? This Coach Sides got lucky tonight. They are doing a run and gun offense. Now wait a couple more games and watch the Fever besides CC start missing shots they got no go to when you start double teaming Clark. Still no screen, no pick & rolls, no double teams, no full court press. Worst of all both teams laid off every jump shot. Wide open on both sides of the ball from 3 point line.

@@Theckonestroh I watched nearly all Clark’s games last 2 years at Iowa thru WNBA, & videos on her childhood zeal. A basis for her high bball IQ. And, other players’ talents are not static. They are growing by Clark building an inside-the-paint offense. Also, Mitchell & Smith have real talent. Fever is developing explosive play.

I'm 70 and a few months ago I didn't know the WNBA still existed. When Clark came along I got curious and began watching highlights on KZitem. At my age I'm not easily impressed. Very little surprises me. Caitlin Clark did. This young woman is a rookie, but she is on track to becoming something greater than ROTY. She will eclipse game itself. She will become larger than the game. People like Clark don't come along very often. And it's interesting to watch the reaction coming from players throughout the league. They see what I'm seeing but they react out of fear, jealousy, envy and insecurity. To beat someone like Clark. You have to do it on the court, in front of everyone with real skills and not with your mouth.

I wanted to see how Caitlin handled 'reality'. She definitely struggled - but she was totally honest about it ... and now, she is playing like the best of the rest. And the Fever ...
