❗️Attention, I recommend using ingredients in grams as this is a more accurate and correct recipe! * Cup = 200 ml
🍰 Ingredients
2 sheets of puff pastry
Use a 20 cm / 8 inch baking ring to cut out the cake base
Cut one piece into 8 segments
Mix 2 teaspoons sugar and 2 tablespoons water and sprinkle over the dough
Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C / 370°F for 20 minutes
Separate 4 eggs
Custard cream:
4 egg yolks
a pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
45g corn starch
120 g (2/3 cups / 4.2 oz) sugar
600 ml (3 cups / 21 fl oz) milk
cook and stir until thickened
Meringue:
4 egg whites
a pinch of salt
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
150 g (3/4 cup / 5.2 oz) sugar
Beat for 7 minutes until stiff peaks form
Divide evenly between 2 18 cm / 7 inch baking rings
Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C / 330°F for 20 minutes
Assemble the cake like in the video
Let the cake rest in the fridge for 3-4 hours to stabilize
Powdered sugar (optional)
