Hello there! Do you think a beginner in music production should learn music theory? And also, what recommended resources for learning music theory?
@adk_studios
3 жыл бұрын
I myself do not have that much of a music theory. So, I would say, I'm more of a music producer, than a musician. I can make quite decent music by making use of several recourses (especially google) to make some decent music. But, if you want to really reach to the listeners heart, knowing a bit of theory can help. Its like, we all can draw with pencil on paper. But, it won't be even close to the likes of Piccasso or any famous artist of the modern time. The good thing is, learning production will also fuel your theory learning. It will happen side by side. For learning music theory, just google music theory for beginners or something. For starters, look up Guy Michelmore on youtube. Good luck
@thatoneguy5191
3 жыл бұрын
I'm a musician learning production now, and theory definitely is not a requirement to get started. Although knowing it dramatically speeds up the musical process, and it allows you to develop and communicate more complex ideas, so highly recommended on my behalf

The term(s) that you need to look for is "royalty free". This is what you should look for from websites that give samples for production. The samples I linked are all like that, but you need to get a license (free) from this page. cymatics.fm/pages/free-sample-packs-license-agreement However, remember, you are not the only one getting these for free. So, if you intend to use melody loops, alter it in a way that it will not be recognizable. Who knows, if someone might have used the sample & uploaded into some content ID system.

Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial series. Question about loop samples.. you say they are suppose to be around 4 bars yet I have tons of loop samples from splice that are far more than 4 bars. For example there's one that's 30 & 1/2. How do I know how to stretch it to match the bpm if a lot more than 4 bars?
@adk_studios
Жыл бұрын
Usually melody loops tend to have bars in multiples of 4. Makes it easier to fit a sample into the project. However there are melody samples that are not exactly in 4 bar lengths. If you have a sample that is too long, then u can play and count 4 bars of the sample, slit it there, then fit the 4 bar sample into 4 bars in the project, then expand it back. Thats how I do it

The FL Sequencer is something quite unique. Kinda good for making quick drum patterns, but a hindrance for other things IMO. In most cases, other DAWs will have some way of implementing this. In CbB, its called Step Sequencer. Here is the video if you want to check that out kzitem.info/news/bejne/sGuVwJ-hnWR7n6Q

I have a doubt sir. Can we make beats like this. Or we have to load it on any samplers like sitala ?
@adk_studios

The method depends on what the producer prefers. I like loading it into samplers, for ease of auditioning samples

Hey bro can you just answer one of my question...how many sample track do I get in 1 cymatics sample pack...I have very limited resources so this is very important for me
@adk_studios
2 жыл бұрын
It all depends on the pack. Before choosing a pack, you can check how much files it has. One shots don't make up that much size. Melody loops might. So, go for sample packs that have more one shots.

I tried and I don't understand how to make it sound good together if my hihat sample is 150bpm and a melody loop is 78bpm! help help help SOS

It could be because the sample might not be in perfect measures/bars.
@Anna29839

@@adk_studios For example, you stretched your hithat sample in order to transform 140bpm to 120bpm that's needed. How much do I have to stretch it if I have 150bpm? And other formats like that 78bpm, for example

If the length of the sample is 4 bars, then it should fit in in 4 bars in the timeline. If it is 8 bars, then it should fit in 8 bars in the timeline.

Try to set the audio sample rate to either 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz in CbB and Windows. Whichever value you choose, make it the same everywhere

Thanks. I usually don't make "free VST" videos because there are already a lot of videos on that. I might do some in the future. But not right now. I focus on production with free stuff. You can find those videos in my music production playlist (linked in description).

There's a preset for Mastering. Can we use compresser as a limiter? For Mastering. Because I don't find any limiter In cakewalk
@adk_studios

Technically, Yes. A limiter is a compressor with a ratio of infinity.
