Hello Nora! I’d love to see you do a collaboration with Caitlyn Louise of Plant Life In The Tropics. She’s a huge fan of Leca too. This was a great Q &A video. Btw- I was truly surprised when you came on Lee’s video. Loved it. Won’t give the ending away which I thought was hilarious. Anyway keep these videos coming. 💚🌿

I saw big bags of leca and coco fibre mixed at a hydroponics store the other day. It did intrigue me and made me think it's probably great for plants whose roots are too fine for just leca.

I use that mix to add to my Syngonium plants, ferns and begonias and lately to my watermelon pep with an addition of perlite! Its great stuff as an additive to other substrates!

I have a string of pearls, bananas, watermelons and dolphins all in LECA. I just placed them on top and wrapped the extras around the top of the pot to make them fuller. I use a cacti liquid fertilizer at a low strength. They grew aerial roots that eventually found their way down in the LECA. I have watered them this winter about once every 3 to 4 weeks (the air is dry from the season and the heat being on). I also have other succulents and cacti growing this way. These are the only plants I have not used your long method on and was quite surprised how well they are doing. I was so scared to transfer my succulents but now I am glad I did. Try a single strand, on top, and see how it goes. I rinsed the LECA very well, soaked it for over 24 hrs in water then over 24 hrs in the diluted cacti fertilizer. I also soaked them in a mix of Dr. Bronner's peppermint and tea tree soap for an hour or so beforehand since they were coming from outside to inside. Love your Q&A sessions! ❤️

Loved the cameo in Lee's video!!! I just found his channel recently so I was super surprised when you popped up. I'd love to see more! I haven't watched the tree fibre video yet but I'm wondering if it would be a little more resistant to algae. I made one pole with the tree fibre to test it out. I love it and hate it lol it's easier to dampen because the water doesn't roll off like it does with dry moss BUT when it's dry it falls out of the poll so easily and makes a mess everywhere. My plant seems to like it but I think it would do the same in moss. One thing I guess worth mentioning is the fibre is a bit more aesthetically pleasing than moss.

Thank you, the cameo was fun to do. Interesting to hear about tree fern fibre in a pole. I would love to try it. I guess not having a mess is great incentive to keep it moist. I wonder if there is a way to keep it in the pole?? I have my thinking cap on!

I have ordered my first batch of leca and it arrived today. It was very nice surprise because it should have arrive August 1st or 2nd. Instead, I got it almost a week earlier. Great, I can repot my ZeeZee sooner than I thought. I am still gathering info re my calathea zebrina transition from soil to leca, but I am quite sure I will give it a go shortly after my ZeeZee is in leca.

Honestly I really like the look of algae growing on the pole. It gives it a "living" look to the moss. When I make my first moss pole I might stick some live moss to it as well! Make it look like a mossy tree log covered in green! 💚

I know what you mean! The algae looks good, it also means your pole is moist. 😁

My kill this plant question was partially a joke. Haha. I loved you on that cameo. I watch and respect both of you, and for you to show up was a surprise! Hhahaha. I would love to see you collaborate with sydney plant guy and paz plant life, all the aussie moss polers. Show us Americans who's boss at moss. Haha.

Btw I never mentioned that I greatly appreciate your subtitles! I often prefer using subtitles if lots of people are around me, or if I don’t have earbuds, headphones, etc. sometimes the auto generated CC is useful for other videos or documentaries, but it’s often incorrect!
@TheLecaQueen

You have no idea how this fills my heart! The advice is to not bother with subtitles. I love them because I watch everything with subtitles on. I also found out very early on that the auto captions are terrible, especially when the subject of my channel is leca and KZitem calls it liquor! 🤣

I've just started the long method transition for my Calathea Makoyana and so and really curious to see how it goes. Also my Orbifolia will be getting the long method soon too. Nora, do you think it's OK to transition plants now since we're moving into autumn now. Have you done it with not too much collateral damage?
@TheLecaQueen

I do not worry about seasons, I just do what I need to do when I wanna do it. We grow indoors so plants are still growing, slower but still growing.
