Yes, you can use component cables. I. In fact, I'd recommend it - the quality will be much better - especially on a HD TV. As far as the image being skewed on to the bottom left, that is on your CRT, right?

It's a application on real console (Wii, Nes, Snes, Genesis...). You must plug-in cable from console to CRT TV.

What do you think about the sony fv310?

I've never seen one in person, but many people consider it to be the best CRT ever made. Personally I don't know how true that is. Unless it is much better than the Trinitron I have, I think think the FV310 models might be a little overhyped. Although they do say the FV310 models are built with higher quality parts than other Trinitrons, so maybe it is better. I'd have to see. I am actually trying to get my hands on one, preferably the 36FV310 to test. But so far I actually prefer the JVC and Mitsubishi CRTs I have over the Trinitron for gaming. Movie watching is pretty good on my Trinitron though. I'm going to do more side by side tests in another video. Sorry - kind of a long answer to your question. Basically if you do have the opportunity to easily get a FV310, then I would. But if you have to drive hours to get one or pay a lot of money, just keep your expectations in check. :)

@@FairyKid64 I saw one for $35 on kijji and messaged the owner and he told me it was sold. So right now I'm torn between getting this sony kv-36fs100 for free and waiting a potentially long time for another fv310 to pop up in my area. What do you think I should do in this scenario?

@@joneswarrington7242 Well, what I did was I got the Trinitron model in the video, and now I'm on the look out for a FV310. Once I find a FV310, then I'll probably sell this one and upgrade to the FV310. You could do the same thing - especially if the KV-36FS100 is free. Just keep in mind that these TVs are super heavy. Mine actually weighs as much as I do - 220lbs! It's a beast to move. But if you have a dolly it might be easier. But you'll probably want to get help to pick it up and put it on a stand. Just looking at the specs of the model you mentioned, it does have some added features that mine doesn't - like an auto wide screen mode. I haven't really gone into that mode too much, but it is pretty amazing on modern content. Mine has a widescreen mode, but it isn't automatic - so I have to go in the menu each time I want to activate it. Also, the model I have has some issues with high contrast scenes where it artificially darkens the screen. I think it's called "Auto white balance", or "dynamic picture processor". Not sure on the name since information is scarce. I'm actually going to talk about that in a future video. Basically it is good for movies, but pretty bad for games. I don't think I can turn it off on my TV, but I've heard in later models it can be turned off in the service menu - so the model you're thinking of getting could be good. But if you already have a nice CRT, it might be worth it to wait for what you're really after. In hind sight I might have done this.

This is the most aggravating thing ever, I've owned my trinitron for like 3 years and barely use it cuz whenever I calibrate it, it ends up looking terrible on some systems and good on some
