Sorry to hear that Doug. I almost bought one of those years ago, but didn't because I hadn't seen one in person and didn't know anyone with one. I also thought their claims were a little exaggerated. For probably 11 plus years I ran an Ingersoll 5HP 60 gallon and it only got oil changes until it puked a motor - after 11 years. The motor died because I never cleaned it and it was full of grinding dust. Oops, lesson learned, now I blow the motors out regularly. I replaced the motor with an offshore unit and it still ran several more years. Now because of my car addiction I have the IR and a Puma 80 gallon plumbed together for painting and media blasting. The Puma is 3 years old and outside of oil changes, I literally haven't touched it. Go to your local farm store and get a Puma, an Ingersoll Rand or similar higher quality compressor that you can purchase locally and don't look back.

Before the old man passed he bought a Devilbi$$ (240v)... 100 gallon, it's now almost 25 years old, still on the factory shipping pallet...it doesn't see much use... but it has never failed.

The new stuff is junk. I am still running the ole Devilbiss 20 gallon 5hp 120 vac unit. It was a xmas gift. I do have to wait on occasion for it to catch up, but not long. I did have to have the auto pressure req fixed once, 20 yrs ago. it ain't the prettiest girl at the dance, but she knows all the steps. Be well.

Buy a 7-1/2 horsepower 3 phase Quincy compressor used at a reasonable price and install a 5 horsepower 1750 rpm single phase motor. The original Quincy motor is 3450 rpm so it will run forever with very little noise. Mine was under 65 db.
