I remember this song when I lived in Fullerton and Anaheim in the late 60s and early 70s. It was the instrumental lead-in to the KMPC broadcasts with Dick Enberg and Don Wells. Gene Autry still owned the team, so that’s why you hear Golden West in the theme.

I spent 3 summers in Anaheim 63, 66, 67. Also a junior Angel, we got into the Big "A" for 50 cents. I remember that song. It pops into my head from time to time. I remember all the streets, Brookhurst, Cerritos, Ball, Euclid, Chapman!!!! From NY!

YES They stopped playing it when Disney owned the team and virtually screwed up all things California Angels. Remember that hideous Disney uniform?

I've searched for years for this song. Can anybody provide or know where I can get the instrumental side? That's what remembered the most!!! I know Dick Winslow wrote it under the Buena Vista Records under the disney name. Thanks for sharing this......

It was a 45 single record made in 1965-66 when the Angels moved to Anaheim at Anaheim Stadium. Heard it for years, sometime they played the whole song at Angels games. This may have done from the KMPC radio broadcast before the A.L. West first playoff game of the Angels vs the Orioles. Bob Rowe on KMPC played it on Angels Talk before the game.

I just found the 45 (with picture sleeve) in NM condition at an antique mall in Emmitsburg, MD. I'll probably upload a video of both sides of the 45 within the next few weeks as it sounds great.

You rarely heard it with the words. It was just instrumental, played right after the announcer would say, "It's baseball time with the California Angels!"

This by the Jack Halloran Singers, right? (I was looking for this for some time)

no idea who the singers are. I pulled it out of an Angels broadcast. I'm glad I could help.

@@so.cal.sportsetc.1293 It is the Jack O'Halloran Singers. Buena Vista Records released a 45 single with them singing on a "A" side. The "B" side was the instrumental side that was used by KMPC mainly in the 60's and KTLA in the same period. The 70's version is still used today by the Angels today.
