I've been to the Manx Grand Prix and the Isle of Man TT as a part of a race team, and I personally know and have met Andy. One thing that you'd be surprised to find out is the friendliness from the community as a whole, and from the teams/riders. No one is on their high horse or think they are too important for anyone. You will often see the top riders have a banter with fans or someone random, as an example. It should be on your bucket list as it was for me, and actually being able to experience it is the best two weeks of my life re-lived every time I go there. Furthermore, fantastic reaction and curiosity. I very much enjoyed the entire video.

Go and look up Doc John Hines and the talk he has done on KZitem. He was a travelling doctor in the Irish Road races and the TT. The Irish race he would follow the whole pack from the mass start of each race for the first lap. He would carry a ruck sack on his back and then could be first on the scene if there was an incident during the first lap. At the TT there are multiple doctors around the track that can get to an incident quickly if a crash happens. His talk is interesting and it shows the other side of the race from the point of the marshals and the medical staff.

The adjective to describe something from the Isle of Man is Manx (pronounced Manks). Not to be confused with Manc (pronounced Mank) which is commonly used as an adjective for something from the Manchester area. By the way the IoM claims to have the oldest Parliament in the world, the Tynwald, which they reckon to have been in existence for over 1,000 years. It also has a pretty unique 'national flag' which has a symbol of 3 legs.

The TT is a time trial event (Tourist Trophy cup) that date backs to 1907 The main land UK back in the day banned road racing or any racing motorcycle so it was held in the Isle of Man since it is a self governing. Island. Apart from policing and security of the British isles which the government of the UK takes care of the race itself. Is a race against the. Clock whomever sets the fastest time wins. If several riders are on similar fast times that your racing other people aswel. Yes it is the most dangerous road race in the world and high fatalities. More then any road race in the world was once in the 60s or 60s. On the race calendar for the motorcycle GP event untill a partition to ban it from the (GP ace calender by the famous Italian rider. Gismomo Agostini.( Who won the race back then ) to participate in race one must have knowledge. Of the course which takes time and be able to set s fast time monitored by the race marshals. The problem is for organisers you can't just turn up as some foreigners. Do and treat it as a walk in the park and race with the pros riders back in 60s. Lots. Of overseas ridersthought like that the hippy go lucky clowns arrived. no big deal that's how you end up crippled or dead .So yeah it's attracts the idots. So this event has historically and currently a high fatalities record. And as long as people want to experience the ultimate. In racing. t will continue
