I love how this is the second vid I've seen like this. They always seem so surprised by the pronunciations, like Texans can't spell or speak properly. What they fail to point out is that many of these names are old German, so blame them...

I’ll forgive them. This ole Texas boy lived in California for several years and found most Californians couldn’t pronounce Lompoc, Nojoqui or Nacimiento properly, either.

OK, how many Texans can get La Jolla, Tuolumne, Lompoc, Suisun City, Paso Robles, Tulare and San Pedro right? Hint: the Spanish pronunciation isn't necessarily the correct one... ;)

I'm at least 4th generation Texas native & I still struggle with some of these. I live on the border of Waxahachie & Red Oak, we say it like Wocks-uh-hatch-ee. (Someone else commented Wax... not in my experience.)

There really are many I don't know. But the ones I do had me lmao. Especially kuykendahl. I also love that I don't have to type it and my phone knows it bc I frequently have to use that word. Also lmao at nacodoches, which I don't know how to spell.
