This story shows that Calvin has a kind and caring side

@@consciousiota2161 Yeah. This is easily one of the most emotional and real Calvin and Hobbes story arcs.

@@calebbusing6171 Yeah. I’ve heard a fan-theory that Hobbes originally belonged to Calvin’s mom, which actually makes a bit of sense.

this story honestly is so nice and emotional, kind of unlike the regular Calvin and Hobbes, and even Stephan Pastis said himself, when you do more strips that are touching in a comic that's usually goofy, the feeling will hit more, and he's definitely correct!
@SuperJamz64
Ай бұрын
@@JesterDingleBob Yeah. Bill Watterson said that this story arc revealed new facets of Calvin’s personality and showed that the comic was broad enough to handle a wide range of subjects, ideas, and emotions in the 10th Anniversary Book. I agree, this arc really opened up the strip’s world and is where it truly started becoming amazing.

Yeah, even in the most emotional arcs, Bill Watterson still made sure to put in humor. Calvin saying he’ll be willing to donate most of his dinner to the little raccoon was funny too.

I don’t really think that line’s funny. I think it’s sweet, and I agree with Hobbes.

The reason why I think it’s funny is because Hobbes is an animal himself
@SuperJamz64

@@calebbusing6171 True, I guess Hobbes is a little biased there. But I find it sweet because he’s saying how he thinks other animals are so cute, including the little raccoon, and he hopes that he’s okay.
