Nascar driver was clearly practicing lines. He only pushed that car in the straights.

I disagree, I do track days all over the place, in fact a number of years ago I got into turn 7 just a little too hot on this track, lost it and hit the wall, anyway I have chosen to modify and track a gen 4 LT1 Camaro, been on track with Cup cars, Craftsman trucks, Trans Am cars and so on, and have not found any of these race cars to have a significant advantage over my tired old Camaro, I run my tires to the cords, but if I have a good fresh set of slicks at the time, I usually come out on top. All of these race car series have many rules and regs to keep them held down, like how much the suspension components can weigh tire size, car weight, HP limits and so on, I have no limits, except money, now for this modern Camaro, equipped with the 1LE package is a track weapon on its own, very few mods needed, to run with a cup car.

I love how the video ends right before the nas car blow his doors off on that straight sway

Nah, he was on practice laps, no reason to pass me just to get passed at the next corner. After that, too many turns where he was slower.

A big W for the SS 1LE. it took me a minute to figure out if it was a ZL1 the straights told me it wasn't. The 6th gen camaro SS is a great slept on car.

Putting the hurt down on the sanctioning body? That's a RACE CAR, not the sanctioning body.

A NASCAR what? NASCAR is a sanctioning body, not a style of car. It'd be like saying "This Camaro torched an FIA"

Come on guys, you don't really think I was claiming an SS Camaro was actually faster? 🤣. It's was just a little faster when Joe Nemechek chauffeured me around in it. Camry driver is still learning his car.

Was also not pushing the corners to its full ability. The driver of that Toyota was holding back big time. Still a cool video.

@@AParker077 Chevy powered Toyota, and he was clearly holding up the Camaro, that is how the Camaro passed him, kinda how it works.
