Looks like you guys have a great build with a lot of good ideas incorporated. I like how the doors were modified to fit the helmet and I really like the rear wing mount. I hope you guys were able to make this car work in practice. The 6th Gen Camaros are notorious for having finicky electronics when you strip them down for race cars. I've had my fair share of experience with them. Basically, any fault will cause you to have an open diff with the dreaded "Service Rear Axle" message. I've seen the alternator/charging systems have issues as well. On a side note, I noticed the AP/Essex link in the description. If you ever build an automatic 6th Gen Camaro with the AP brake kit, be aware that it will go in and out of performance shift mode. It may also shift into neutral unexpectedly in brake zones. I've personally seen this on over 5 cars. It's because the brake pedal travel vs pressure is different from OEM. The car sees more decel than expected for a given brake pedal position so it thinks there is a driveline issue locking the rear. It will shift into neutral to protect the transmission.

Thanks Travis, that’s much appreciated! Now we’re working on creating carbon door cards specifically for this setup to add rigidity, while still maintaining that helmet gap. We’ve also created a finalized version of the chassis-mount wing that you’ll get to see in the next ZL1 breakdown episode coming soon. It performed beautifully out on the track! We’ve had success with putting the car into competitive drive mode (within the submenu), before moving it. That disengaged ESC and we’ve had no faults thus far. Thanks for the heads up on that; it’s an issue we’ve yet to come across and the last automatic ZL1 we built has seen 20+ track sessions. The worst issue we’ve had is an overheated master that we ended up replacing. We’ll keep that in mind and report back if we see an issue. P.S. You sound like you’d be a good resource for us to chat with as we built more and more of these 6th gen Camaros. If you don’t mind, email patiencemetalfab@gmail.com so that we can save your contact info. Thanks again!

I'm taking some serious mental notes here as I have an SS 1LE That I plan on doing some track work to once I get a good slow old Daily to keep it off the road. This car is far beyond the point of my abilities and money to achieve but it doesn't hurt to look. I'm just happy to see that my car is worth this much work and dedication, shows that I made a good decision on where to start.

Now that's one hell of a conversion system, I always thought it was a little funny as to how the many customers would buy a factory stock Chevy, charger or challenger and take it out on the highway and play with a little too close to edge, of how much play get away with before they get busted for a speeding ticket

@@patiencemetalfab I mean I get it. Prices have gone up but idk. Is it chromoly or DOM? Last cage I had built was a rear only. Main hoop, X, horizontal, no gussets, main to rear towers, X from main to opposite towers, then tower to tower brace in DOM. $1100 with sponsorship. I wanna say $2000 without. I guess the rear would be half no? $3750-$5000?
