I have been in Cambodia for 17 years now. Have loved the country, didn't like the COVID period, but the rest has been fine. So many wonderful places to visit. I taught here for 17 years and have been Principal, Director, Education Director, and teacher from K through high school, as well as teaching at University as well. It's been a great 17 years!

I could be wrong but I think Com Bo Luc Lac dish is originated from Vietnam. I know that neighboring countries influence each other so perhaps there is a Cambodian version of Luc Lac created from an inspiration from the Vietnamese Luc Lac. Again I could be wrong like how I was wrong about Pho being originated in Vietnam but surprisingly it was originated in Cambodia first as Hui Tieu. Anyhow, thank you for this interview content! ❤ it!

Cambodian culture has been influenced by India, which is reflected in their tradition of eating with their hands, unlike the Vietnamese or Chinese, who use chopsticks. Dishes like Phở and Hủ Tiếu are eaten with chopsticks, so claiming that these dishes originated in Cambodia is quite laughable. Hủ tiếu, first known as kuyteav, originated from the Cambodian Chinese cuisine of the Teochews who came to Cambodia from Guangdong province in China and then emigrated to Vietnam during the 1970s. Hủ tiếu Nam Vang (lit. 'Phnom Penh rice noodle soup') is the classic variation of the dish in which the rice noodles have a softer texture and flat appearance like phở. In Southern Vietnam, the noodles were recreated producing a chewy noodle texture commonly seen in hủ tiếu noodles nowadays. The word hủ tiếu came from the Teochew dialect 粿條 Phở originated in the early 20th century in Northern Vietnam, and after the Vietnam War, refugees popularized it throughout the world. Because phở's origins are poorly documented, there is disagreement over the cultural influences that led to its development in Vietnam, as well as the etymology of the name. The Hanoi (northern) and Saigon (southern) styles of pho differ by noodle width, sweetness of broth, and choice of herbs and sauce.

@@VuNguyen-xc7bhCambodian always use their hands to eat just like other people in this world while a small number, maybe, use their feet for eating 😂. Cambodian use their hands to eat , banana, durian and other fruits and food that they’re are not good enough to use chopsticks or spoons to eat them. However, Cambodian also use chopsticks and spoons to eat noodles and soup because they’re not good at using hands to eat on those types of dishes. All Asian people love soup and some soup are often vey similar to one another, especially when they’re neighbors. And yes we eat rice instead of bread as a staple food.

What you don't say is that people in Cambodia are not allowed to express their options freely. It is an authoritarian regime, if you say things that they don't like then they will find a way to lock you up. There is nothing like the UK, people here get the freedom that the Khmer people don't !

Do you think Cambodia is not safe because you leave things or when you are not careful with your stuff ? So is Paris , New York … bruh you have to take care of your own stuff . Dont spread lies and believe it . Just come to see it yourself. There’s no big crime like what u think … since there’s many psychopaths in korea … dont assume anything bad like this since you never experienced it yourself there.
