Where was the floating villages? When I went in 1998 I hired a longtail boat and travelled down streams and out onto the lake and headed out of site of the land to actual villages floating. There was hardly anyone or other boats around. The floating villages I visited were Vietnamese not Cambodian

The restaurant reminds me of the rubbish Mekong tour daytrip I did in Vietnam last year. They serve the rubbish food, offer everyone a beer and and ice cream then go around asking for money for the beer and ice cream. Apart from that, not a bad day out. Sometimes you need a day away from the ladies in the bars ;-)

Hi, Pique. Well, this is one of those raw cultural places that I couldn't even begin to understand how the villagers satisfy their needs all year round. I hope there is a bathroom on the boat. If I drank a beer or two, I have to drain the lizard several times soon afterwards. It puts a major crimp in my fun on these little side trips. My buddy, who is a retired UPS driver has what he calls "UPS bladder", and he can drink forever before he has to visit the toilet. I hate him!
