MLD-RN 1974 its not that bad. They have electricity and running water and indoor plumbing, and they also get welfare and food stamps.plus they are living in solid buildings which are not falling down. There's slums in the world where they dont have running water or indoor plumbing and no help from the govt and many live in crumbling home made shacks. So its worse in other countries. countries dont have any of these things

The only good thing Camden has going for it is its nice waterfront across from Philly. It’s a safe area with several nice entertainment options (Adventure Aquarium, Battleship New Jersey, BB&T Pavilion). Once you go a few blocks inland, it begins to look like a war zone full of neglected neighborhoods with crumbling streets and buildings. The city has been in decay for decades and doesn’t have the resources to handle the problems. Crime, drugs, poverty, a failing school system and corruption are rampant. Several mayors and many police officers have gone to prison for corruption. In fact, the city’s police department was disbanded in 2012-2013 with about half the force either laid off or voluntarily quitting and taken over by the county. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any end in sight for Camden as it continues to fall into ruin despite millions of dollars of financial aid coming from the State. If you just stick with the waterfront, you’ll be fine.

The building he is driving towards in the beginning is Dudley Elementary School where my son went in the middle of the damn projects. I was born in Camden in 1980 and left in 1984 because my pops was in the US Army. When we came back to the States in 1987 from Germany we moved to Fort Monmouth on the Jersey Shore where I grew up. I moved back to Camden in 2013 with my son and left in 2018. I got anxiety just watching this shit. Never had a problem with anyone but its just the atmosphere depresses you because it seems like no hope. It's the God damn leadership in Camden everything is corrupt from city hall to the courts. I always wanted to run for mayor as a Republican and just launch an all out assualt on everything wrong with Camden. Such potential and can be beautiful if you had muthafuckas running it that cared.
