Ever had camel milk chocolate before? What'd you think?

Now I'm curious to try camel milk in general!

So am I! Honestly I'm surprised I don't know of a local source given how much Seattle is into raw milk and goat milks!

Yeah! It was really fun! I still want to add nibs though, see if it brings out the earth/mushroomy notes!

I love the way you describe the complexity of the chocolate😆. I will definitely be trying this one as I'm a fan of dark and complex chocolate bars!

Hey babes! So my gf and I ttest the sampler box of Hummingbird chocolate and I did say I'd get back to you... I rated each of them out of 10 ! And this was my results. Tumaco: 60% - 8/10 Really eatable, could definitely see getting this one again. Hispaniola: 70% - 6/10 Love the fruitiness, but a weird aftertaste and kind of chalky finish Fleur de Sel: 70% - 5/10 I like salt in chocolate but this again has a very weird taste to it that I did not like Hispaniola: 85% - 7/10 I find the bitterness of the higher % helps here so that the other flavors aren't so overwhelming Mayan: 68% - 8/10 I love the heat on this one and the flavors So my favorites are the Tumaco and Mayan bars from Hummningbird...

Totally fair, and thanks for such a thorough review! I'm curious what happened with the fleur de sel though, that's one I've liked in the past. I wonder if it's a weird harvest or something? But yeah, the Tumaco 60% is the house favorite! (Especially in the peanut butter bunnies!)

They both sound good. I want to try! And Goats milk chocolate also sounds good!!

I hope you can! And goat's milk chocolate is so dang good I'm surprised it's not everywhere given lactose intolerant folks and just having more options. (I'm also biased as crud here as a goat milk white is what got me into craft chocolate.)

@@DessertGeek Well I'm not a fan of goats milk to drink (but then I'm not a fan of any milk alone) but I do love goats cheese so I'm guessing I'll like it in chocolate form

@@just_another_Japan_Life_Vlog That's fair! I fully admit I'm biased at this point, but also how goaty chocolate can be it's really varied. Like sometimes it's just a hint of a tang, other times it's intense!

@@just_another_Japan_Life_Vlog Okay now I totally have to say that finding the right chevre? Life changing. I have personally carried Lost Peacock's chili garlic chevre home on a train during the brief time no one was selling it locally and regret NOTHING dear goodness that stuff is glorious. And reasonably priced for being so tasty! Now I need to buy some...

Mission Chocolate is always a good idea to have around for sure! I haven't had Mission's camel milk, but I've had camel milk by 2 other makers a long time back. One was really salty and one had caramel like notes. After you had more of the camel milk did you notice any saltiness? Thanks!
@DessertGeek

You got me curious since I didn't notice salt, so I grabbed more of the bar. There's allllmost a hint of a salt finish, but I'm reading it more as salted cinnamon? (My palate might be a bit shot for full nuance though, I was eating Marou's 48% milk before I grabbed warm water.) There is a distinct soft astringency too to the finish, almost chemical? It does linger though, especially with this larger piece, going almost towards coffee/bitter. It's distinct for sure! Still curious how it would be with nibs!

I don't enjoy goat milk's taste, so I don't know if I would enjoy this?
@DessertGeek
2 жыл бұрын
Oh it doesn't taste like goat's milk at all! It's much closer to cow's milk than goat, I was getting an added sweetness more than that yogurt-y tang.

Yeah! (And I definitely get not being in for goat milk, but goat milk chocolate isn't super-duper intensely tangy so you might be pleasantly surprised?)
