Not only one of the most interesting songs ever written and penned, but without any doubt, this was also one of the most creative and fun videos made in the 1980s. "It's Strange"😉, is slightly atonal, out of phase and offbeat but everything fits magically and is highly danceable. Not only this song but in general Cameo as a band and creative collective would deserve much more appreciation.

Cameo produced some sick basslines...I've noticed old music actually made you FEEL something, if it was an uptempo song, it made you feel high...if it was a ballad, you wanted to cry. Now music, no matter what the genre/tempo, doesn't make you FEEL anything...its like chewing on paper, no flavour whatsoever!!!

I was in my mid 20's during that time, I love groups like Cameo, Loose Ends, S.O.S Band and others with great funk, and R&B sounds. Groups like that made great music and it was fun to listen to and even dance, if you wanted. Today's music? You have guys who wants to be gangsta and thugs, who have to prove their hard, and quick to pull out a pistol and fear with intimidation. I'm so glad I'm not in my 20's now, I'm old school and I prefer old school music, that is what makes me and feel like reminiscing about a time when music was good. I lay in bed with my eyes and I can still hear the music and good times of a different era.☺️

Cameo funk is unique. Great lyrics and that bass is dirty. Great synth drone too that tickles the ears.

Love this song, represents a time when I was single and free funny how the kids today are wearing the same hair style, Larry Blackman was ahead of his time.

The flattop/high top fade goes at least back into the 60s. Big Daddy Kane's dad wore one.

Cameo itself should be in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame. Larry Blackmon described that songs like Word Up, Single Life, was more than R&B, it was a Contemporary Hit Form of Music. Throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s, their work payed off. They are still out there.

It's all about the frequency of the music which changes every 10 years or so but it's coming back, I like Lil Duval and Snoops song based on this sample

Yeah, now it's all about personalities. Doesn't matter how sorry their music is (Exhibit A: Cardi B. Who in the hell listens to her and thinks that it's good music?)
