The thumb nail is incorrect, the world record for age 17 is held by Jakob Ingebrigtsen at 3:31.18....just a few years ago, who would have believed that 17-year-olds would be running this fast?

It’s a World Under 18 Best/ Record (on age you turn that year so Ingebrigsten turned 18 that year and was not U18)
@kevinkasp

@@miller10 I don't understand that. Ingebrigsten was 17 when he ran 3:31, and there is no denying it. If some group of people want to ignore the truth and report something else, that doesn't change what actually happened. And it further makes no sense because that would mean a child born on January 1 versus another born December 31 would be treated the same even though they are essentially a year apart in age.

its a world u18 record because the world records work by how old you will be at the end of the year. When Jakob ran the age group world record for 17 year olds it was in 2018 which he also turned 18 that year. Cameron Myers doesn't turn 18 until next year so he still classes as an U18

I means, all credit to the dude, but I sort of don’t want anyone to take Jakob’s records so soon… I really hope he won’t progress to the level Jakob is right now tbh, at least not untill he is much older

@@user-ik8ld8mz9t how is it downfall? He's not even on that level and the probability is that he never will be. I just put my faith in probability. If records are taken as soon as they are set, then that would take away most of the joy of even becoming the best in the first place.

@@user-ik8ld8mz9t I mean, competition is good, but it’s always sad to see legends get beaten. It’s the same reason why I don’t want Bolt’s records to fall soon either.

that is such a selfish take. Records are literally meant to be broken. Tough luck buddy, Myers has already broken Jakob's age group world records. Let's see more of them fall!!!

@@jo_cho only time will tell. But if Jakob manages to get to world record level on any of the middle to long-distances, I highly doubt Myers will ever beat him. There’s a reason some of these records have stood for such a long time.

@@thewalkingjoke3843 just my opinion but records are there to be broken and are often aided and paced, for me its the championships and competitive side of racing i enjoy, its a mental and physical challenge , i guess thats why it hurt jacob to lose two consecutive 1500 world champs, excuses aside, . Its great seeing other young athletes pushing through, and a bonus look like they actually enjoy their running
