It's good to see that Dayana is progressing in terms of her form. I was expecting Camila to come away with the upset. Wish they didn't have to play in the first round

Giorgi is the most frustrating phenom I think I've ever seen. She has more talent than 90% of the tour, but seems only happy playing from behind and being a victim of her weak mind. So so difficult to watch. What she needs is a very deep meditation practice and to get rid of the spectre of her father around her all the time. Does he realize he is suffocating for her? It's so obvious.
@Bhavyo

She may have waited to long to do the necessary changes. She hasnt developed her game one bit. She plays exactly like she did 5 years ago.
@bigrobsydney

She has won around $4m, and been ranked around 26 in the world less than 2 years ago. That is not bad at all; actually, that is pretty good. I would rather look at the positives, and agree she is a wonderful talent. Okay so she got beaten today. But she lost a very close match to another extremely good player; Dayana is currently ranked 25 in the world, and has a great coaching team. Come on, don't you think you're being a little hard?
@Bhavyo

@@bigrobsydney She is such a great striker and should be top 10, that is her potential. And 5,6 years ago most experts and fans thought she would reach and stay in top 10 without a problem. So yes, Top 30 is absolutely not bad, but seeing her not developing her game one bit in years, thats the frustrating part, seeing her not reaching her potential.

Camila Giorgi is so fit and she can play very fast and I think she has a lot of talent but her father should understand that she is way too onedimensional. I have never heard any come ons from her, never any excitement if she wins a game, breaks the opponent's game, win a set or even win the match! And she is shy but wears these very sexual outfits like way too short dresses. I think she looks awesome and her body is thin and muscular, so she is very fit. Dayana is also fit, but not that muscular. Nadal knows how to play this surface like no others and you can't be the winner in the long run by using shear power. I have not found many interviews with Giorgi, and none where she is asked questions on her game style and if she considers doing something differently etc. She never hits drop shots, come to the net, she is standing way too close to the baseline for these rallies with the hard hitting Yastremska, who is also rather onedimensional. I really wish Giorgi would start growing a tennis brain because she seems to lack it. Everybody knows how she always hits the ball as hard as she can so she can be good to watch on hard courts. I wish a good tennis coach would contact her and offer her his/her help because she should have won more matches. That I am sure of. Her looks is maybe the best of all of the females besides Eugenie Bouchard. Camila could be such a great sponsor object. She needs new tennis inspiration. If I were her friend I would encourage her to find a new coach. And she might still work with her father, but I think she needs a team to help her. She plays the same way no matter who and which surface she plays. And she is such a silent person.

@No name That comment was asinine and sexist even coming from someone with a name like Adelaide. All these athletes [except Venus, who has her own brand] wear the clothes of their sponsor. That's why you see many of them wearing the same outfit. And in that case, they are all "sexual" whatever she meant by that.

Yastremska was the more solid player. Her BH and BH and FH return won her the match. Yastremska did drop her level towards the end of the second set though. Giorgi did not redirect balls as well as her opponent. She also played power tennis, and did not make any adjustments after losing the 1st set. Giorgi should've used slices to break up the rhythm, and to also come forward more to force her opponent to overhit. Slowing down the groundstrokes would also mess up her opponent's timing, too. Giorgi should've also tried to place her serves towards the FH side much more.
