The Meseta on the Camino Frances is a land of challenge and transformation. As far as the eye can see, the vast landscape seems to stretch endlessly, testing the limits of even the most seasoned pilgrims. But it's precisely this open and challenging terrain that makes the Meseta such a unique and rewarding part of the Camino de Santiago.
For me, I found joy, friendship, and many laughs on the Meseta. I shared beautiful, special moments with fellow pilgrims, like watching the sunset together atop the Castillo de Castrojeriz. Everything quickly changed when we arrived in Fromista. I found myself alone again in León, where I took a rest day to explore the city and the magnificent Catedral de León. Although I was a bit more tearful than before, I stayed committed - I had to keep moving forward, step by step, until I reached Santiago de Compostela.
