Absolutely! She sometimes got tired and sore, but she always found a way to push on. She often had to wait for me as I tried to catch up. 😄

Thank you for sharing your experiences on the Camino Frances. I have enjoyed going with you on this long walk. You're near the end now and it will be sad to say bye-bye. I love Canadians, spent a year in Kitchener-Waterloo, it was the best time. I have learned a lot, seen a lot, through your eyes. I was thinking about doing the Camino Frances this year (now) in September but have decided against it from what I have seen through your videos. My reason is that there are altogether too many hard surfaces. I like walking on a more natural, softer terrain with lots of uneven surfaces and plenty of opportunities for walking on grass. On the other hand, I really appreciate the idea of being able to walk 40 or 50 kms every day and always have somewhere comfortable to sleep, something nice to eat. In Australia the distances between towns are too long and consequently you have to take your food and tent (much extra weight) and camp outdoors, which I don't like! The Primitivo may be the one for me - more research required.

Hey gumbycat, Well now I feel really bad for influencing you to not do the Camino Francés. It's true, there are plenty of hard surfaces to walk on. Plenty of pavement, asphalt, and rock. But also lots of dirt trails, and some mud for good measure. I think really good shoes with some cushioning are essential. Probably a half size to a full size larger than your normal shoe size. I don't think I could do 40 or 50 km every day. We met a few people who did walk that far, but I was really tired by 25 km, and absolutely wrecked if we had to walk close to 30 km. I know what you mean about distances between towns being daunting. Like Australia, Canada is a place where I find it hard to imagine doing a walking journey like the Camino. And thanks for the kind words about Canada and Canadians. My wife and I traveled the East coast of Australia once and absolutely loved the country and the people. We need to find a way to schedule a vacation to take our kids there! And as for the Primitivo, I don't know much about it except that it is supposed to be more rugged and have fewer amenities. Whatever path you choose I wish you well. Buen Camino!

@@EagerFeetFamily Thanks for your kind reply. I am a lifetime barefoot runner and when I walk I always seek softer surfaces, want flexibility not padding when I wear shoes. I only wear shoes to protect my feet from pebbles, roots and things like that.

Ah - a barefooter. I don't think I could do barefoot running, but I have respect for those who do. Actually on day 3 we had a barefoot guy pass us on the trail, walking through a section of forest. I was amazed. We never saw him again, but many times during our Camino I found myself wondering how he did in the cities and in the mud and in the mountains. You need to make some Camino videos and show people what it is like! 😄

Hey B! Thanks for sharing again :) At 5:07 - how were your shoes? Was cushioning still good? Seeing Arzua was also a treat, because the hotel where we were booked turned out to be our best hotel experience (the 1930 Boutique Hotel in Arzua). Great food, and amazing interiors, etc. So when I saw your town shot, I was hoping to see it again. oh well. The bar at 5:45 is ALSO where we took a rest and a drink. In the summer, the tables are all out and so many people sit there and eat! And at 7:06, we also took photos / selfies with the mural !! But that's where we stopped - at A' Rua. And then Kilometro 15 was a pub stop for us on the last day on our way to Santiago. Looking forward to your final videos, thank you for sharing! Buen Camino!

Hi N, glad to have you onboard for another video. The Altra shoes held up great - my feet had no more problems for the rest of the Camino. Sorry we had no shots of the 1930 Boutique Hotel in Arzua. Sounds like a cool place - I've made a note about it in case I ever return. It's fun to hear about the restaurants and murals and other places that we both checked out. Not many videos left - thanks for watching!
