Your ideas are so interesting. Although not a tabletop game, my cousin is planning to make an ARMA campaign for our group. I would like to apply the lessons you have shown in your videos.

Found your channel yesterday (can you tell) and I'm working my way through your videos. They are very insightful. Green troops could reinforce all units as required, but degrade an elite or veteran unit to regular or green status - it maps pretty easily to the AE troop qualities. A defeated army which lacks (or has a significant disadvantage in) light cavalry is likely to lose far more casualties in the retreat than one which has a screening rear guard. Consolidation of units during a campaign to losses might be considered also? I'm not sure if this happened in real life but would reduce the possibility of half a dozen very understrength units on the tabletop without compromising the casualties inflicted. Maybe even another opportunity for morale/command penalties to reflect this ersatz organisation?

For AE consolidating makes sense. In lower abstraction levels , I World use smaller or 'battered' units. (Casualties at start.) This can give a feel for the wear out in campaigns.
