That's another year behind us folks. And until I started looking back at my footage (any that I'd not deleted by accident) I didn't think that I'd done all that much this year. But it turned out that I had to be pretty brutal and left as much again in the many hard drives that a year in KZitem land consumes.
As usual, it's been tough going trying to give you a steady stream of (hopefully) quality content. The videos that KZitem seems to favour are those where you are bolting parts onto your bikes. That's an expensive wormhole to fall into. And Ducatis aren't exactly inexpensive to buy parts for. The Streetfighter V2 in particular was near perfect upon delivery, so doesn't really need much fettling. What is left for me costs big bucks, so will have to wait.
Next year, I plan to make more Places I Go videos with Ken the Ducati. The only possible issue with that being that it'll mean a lot of blurring of speedos during the editing process...
Having watched the GS First Rides videos I've a couple of more mates offering me test rides of their bikes. Have they not learned anything?
Moose and tHOR... I fear they may be looking for new homes soon. I'm getting itchy feet and hoping to replace two bikes with one and free up some garage space.
Any replacement will have to be able to take over back road duties for tHOR and afford me a little more legroom as well as carrying some camping gear. Ideally 70 - 90 bhp would be good. But that's not set in stone.
I really do dislike the bike selling/buying process. I've no time for the amount of time wasting and tyre kicking that goes on in the private sales market. And feeling like you are being ripped off at the dealership doesn't get you off on the right foot with them either. I've been lucky in that I have managed to avoid having to go through all that with my last two purchases. But I'm not Jay Leno so will have to do the dance this time I'm sure.
As ever, it's been good to catch up with many of you over the year. If you have subscribed but never commented, feel free to get in touch whether it's in the comments section or through social media. I usually get back to you fairly promptly and I don't bite!
Fingers crossed I can finally cross the 1000 subs threshold next year. It's very close to happening.
When I do, I have a video Short ready to go. It's pretty sickening to watch (for me at least) and I'll follow that up with another that goes into a little more detail.
Until then, that''s as much of a clue as you are getting!
All the best
Rob
