You 109" has a 4 cylinder petrol engine with five bearings and 72 hp. If you're just touring Norway/Scandinavia, this engine will bring you to your chosen destination. It's very reliable. The 109" Series III HT is in my POV the best looking and practical Land-Rovers, followed by the Defender OneTen HT. I'm not a great fan of roof racks; side locker boxes are more convenient and costly. Keep on rolling.

Cheers! Little mix up there. It’s doing ok most places in Norway as long as I don’t have traffic behind me. Dropping down to 50kmh on hills. I am debating a 200tdi or a rover v8 next year to cope with the weight. But I also really really enjoy the simplicity of the 2.25. The engine has a cracked block, so something needs to be done in the long run. But for now, keep it fed, rolling and happy!
@paulsehstedt6275

@@kasperhoglund If you're lucky, you can get hold of a 2,5 petrol, brand new from MoD supply in UK. When converting to a 200 tdi without the intercooler or a V8 - much too thirsty - you must upgrade the brake system too. An overdrive on the 2,5 would be a better option, and cheaper too.
@kasperhoglund
11 ай бұрын
@@paulsehstedt6275 This one uses close to 2 litres pr 10km. And I do want an overdrive for the highway miles on the flats. But most of Norway is ups and down with high mountain roads and valleys. But ill keep on running the 225 throughout the winter to make up my mind!

I worked for a company that supplied sealants to LR. From the late 1980s we developed an expanding butyl strip sealant that was used on the S3 LR90 and later Defenders. There were three grades of expansion- 10% 20% and 30% in two widths of either 15mm or 25mm. If I remember, all initial thicknesses were 3mm. The idea was that the sealant would be applied to seams and joints prior to paint and during the oven stage, the sealant expanded. I can imagine that most of the sealant has aged beyond use. It will need replacing. The company that made it no longer exists as an entity but it’s product range is now manufactured by Hodgsons in the UK. The product codes were 0331, 0333 and 0335

Nah, feels kinda cosy like in a boat cabin. But it’s not for everyone I guess. Just don’t want to waste empty space

It looks really cosy and continentally tasteful. I have at present three land rovers in AUS and Europe with various configurations. They’re all summer vehicles only so rain and cold aren’t a problem. A Land Rover can be a nice home and a space-time capsule if you’re into archeology and scenic places. Nice work!

Am just asking why didn't you put a roof tent instead of the inside bed...staying under budget? Nice car and build

Terrible in Wind, Rain, Snow and ice. Used to have an Ikamper, but tuned out to be wasted space. With a bed inside I can also sleep wherever without it being obvious that someone is sleeping there.
