Check with a hose or, better still, a car wash for leaks before doing anything inside. Work the outside first so anything done inside is protected from the get-go.

I agree with those who say to water test it first so you don't spend reno time on something that's going to be damaged right off. Looking at the interior, there's not much you can change with the double bed as it is also the storage compartment. Not having the dining area may be a blessing. Looks like you could add a bunk bed there for the boys, keep moving room for the kitchen and still have room for more seating in the 'living' area. You could add clothing storage under the lower bed, one drawer for each boy. (I don't know the dimensions so the bunk may not work.) I am looking forward to your ideas of how you will utilize the interior space for your family.

@justseekingtruth3998

That was gonna be my suggestion ! Make the bed on some type of , can't think of the name right now, but like shocks where you can raise the bed up store stuff,. Like toliet paper, paper towels, extra water, etc. Stuff you don't need every day necessarily. And that idea about two couches for beds for the boys sounds good too. As well because you will need more general seating. Maybe have the table that screws into the middle of the floor to go between for eating. Then that space in the kitchen is open for whatever you think you need. Also, I would put a ladder to the roof , making sure the roof is sturdy enough to hold some antiques or large what nots that you purchase along the way. So it doesn't take up your living space. There are tons of ideas in videos for school bus transformations that could be helpful as well. One had a tiny little wood burning stove that was adorable :) try to watch some videos to get good ideas. I liked how one family had the master bed fold up like a Murphy bed and had the table set up when the bed was up. Lots of cool things like that. Be sure you secure the cupboard doors and drawers to not open while driving, and using fabric mini blinds helps with privacy. Run a string of lights under cabinets on the floor or next to wall for night lights. Composting toliets save a ton of water. Water is very heavy. Maybe install a rack on back of trailer for bicycles:) If you know how to can food at home in Mason jars make lots of main meals to take with you, will save money and energy. Maybe take a small grill with you to do lots of outdoor cooking, saves on energy and washing dishes :)) I will send any more ideas when I think if them. Yahoo, this is gonna be fun 👍👍👍😁

I'm a longtime viewer and have watched all of your outstanding videos, though this is my first time commenting. Like you, I build/restore/repurpose things. (Over 90% of my household is furnished with Goodwill, flea market, and second-hand pieces.) We are retired now, but have had a Nomad, a 5th wheel, a Jayco, Holiday Rambler, and 2 motor homes. Yes it's a lot of work, but worth it when you can do the work yourselves, but don't be afraid to talk to someone about the roof that knows the ins and outs. I hope you don't have to work on the heater, air conditioner, or converter. Hope all holding tanks are good, good hot water heater, gas tanks and stove & refrig. working and regulator (converters are pretty cheap and if it doesn't have one get one it will save on you batteries. Make sure you have a good battery for the lights. Many parks have nice showers, restrooms and camping spots, so always look at a spot before you pay for a night, and make sure it's level. .Awnings can be a real pain, we finally took the one we had off once and another time had one replaced...price little buggers. We actually found one once on the side of the road that had blown off and stopped to get it for parts. Much better to set up an umbrella or sun shade for us. Kids will love it, as well as grandkids :) Enjoy the ride and have fun with your new project, I know you can make it work . Safe travels, love and blessings Ginger in Mississippi , America. p.s. : ...Went to Goodwill today got 11 rolls of peel & stick wall paper marked from $29.99 down to $1.99 LOL, what a find that was! Hi Elysia, Watching your joy and excitement while you work on your sweet camper is so much fun. Forgive me if I am stating the obvious, but I think lighting merits some thought. For instance, it might be smart to wire for separate low, wall-hung lamp next to where each of the boys will sleep. It would allow for separate sleep times without one disturbing the other. It might save on cell phone batteries if they each had a charger next to where they'll sleep so they could be plugged in while they used them. Other charging stations could also be planned for. Wiring for baseboard lights or for a table lamp or two might be nice at night rather than only having overheads. And, the bathroom looks like it needs some soft and "bright" ideas to avoid starkness and dreariness.

I just bought a similar style trailer as you! I’m not too far away in C-K. Can’t wait to start renovating mine. It’s going to be my backyard guest house. Thanks for all the ideas!

Good for you guys. This will be such a great thing for you. We had a pop-up camper that my folks got and did some needed repairs on when I was about your oldest son's age. There were 4 of us kids. We loved it. I don't mind tent camping but when we got the Skamper wow it was so nice. It had a heater and if the weather was not so great we were nice and cozy inside. We could cook our meals inside too. I am so happy for you. Good luck on your makeover on your new camper.
