Wow, I’m jealous! What beautiful country there. I’m a bit embarrassed that we travel in our Sprinter van with all the feature comforts you can think of. It can hardly be called camping. I think your way of camping is much more genuine and honest. Love your two little boys; they are just darlings. We used to take our 3 boys tent camping when they were little. My wife is English and I’m Chinese. Your sons so remind me of ours when they were at that age. Such precious time when they are young. Treasure the moments. Enjoy your wonderful trip. I look forward to more of your videos. Thank you!

Hi Miriam, Had Yonghong visited these places before or were they new to both of you? I find it amazing how the land changes so much in just one province. Its a shame Lian is maybe too young to remember this trip. Even Sansan will only remember certain bits or when prompted by photos. You'll have to do this trip all over again when they're older 😂 - Gena

I hope in the years to come as China develops the west including Qinghai, Xinjiang, and eventually Tibet, a big percentage of these lands are left wild. For 3,000 years these lands have felt both the thundering hooves of so many nomadic tribes as well as long lines of merchant camel caravans. The beauty of the Stepps, the people, and heart felt sentiment within Han and Tang poems, the ancient music, and the ethnic dances still ringing true today. But with increasing economic, financial, and military pressure from the US, especially along the Pacific coast, China will not stop in developing the west as it is literally the only way out. That said, the road to modernity must not be built on the corpse of history. I mean, how wonderful would it be if your family takes the same trip 10 years from now, and can still find much of Qinghai free from the visage of power lines, concrete paving, and pollution? "As long as green hills remain, there would be firewood for the 'morrow" so goes the old saying.

How is the pollution, which is legendary for the Yellow river?
@MrGuitar1975
Жыл бұрын
I am sure there are still pollutions but not much or impactful in this province. A lot of highly polluted manufacturing processes have also moved out of the country due to quite a few reasons: geopolitical issues, rising cost of labor, environmental law enforcement, etc.

Most of the time, you will not encounter threats from humans in China, but in the wilderness of Qinghai there are many wolves, leopards, snakes, and if you get close to Tibet, there will be bears, which is a great threat to children!
