That lake Ugii is very rich with fishes, as well as any other lakes and rivers in Mongolia, our neighbours sometimes visit our country just for fishing, coz they literally "swarming" with fish, and Mongolians, due to religion, fish very little, except for city lads!! By the way right now, literaly today tomorrow, that lake (Ugii) is holding, "Winter Fishing World Championship" tournament ))) 😊❤ Delegates from all around the WORLD !!! During socialist days, Ugii lake used to be a fish farming lake, famous for it"s "bass", "pike" and exetera ... )))

Throughout the history us mongolians always valued, protected, maintain vastness of our land and tried to think big and peacefull like it. That is why many things in our culture are attached to idea of being "big and vast" like our traditional long songs(other music), dances, tales etc. Also its very wholesome and intresting to see how foreigners think about our land, amd happy traveling!!! :>❤

@@dismas8884 Yep, that’s why I said it was cool to see them roaming, and I know the paint identifies the owners. (I was raised on a farm.) Here in the US, animals out west are branded since they’re often not fenced, but here in the southeast they usually have ear tags so if they escape the fence they can still be identified.

In post-Mongol empire period, Kharkorum city was invaded and destroyed completely by Ming dynasty of china and what you see today is not the remains of the that old city but Buddhist temple which was built around the post-Mongol empire or period of great civil wars. Only thing that remained from the old city now is some archaeological sites of that city.

In case it wasn't obvious from the video, we loved it too 😂 We are actually going to release a Mongolia travel tips video next Saturday and we'll talk about these questions. But to give you some quick answers - we used Google Maps and downloaded the offline maps for the region, and we had spotty service during the trip. The service was better than expected, but we had long stretches of time without any connection. Thanks for the suggestion on the washroom situation btw 😂😂

Erdenezuu monastery, not Kharkhorin city
@kostabatsuuri
6 ай бұрын
That is NOT an ancient Kharkhorum, that just an old "ruins" of an old Erdene Zuu monastery, (before the Communists, had almost 60 temples with in the walls or complex) which was built at the gates of an ancient city Khorkhorum, actual size of a city was almost 16-17 times bigger than whole monastery compound, and was built (monastery complex) out of left over ruin materials of an ancient city Kharkhorum! If you visit, Kharkhorum museum, not so far from there, you will see the actual city size model dummies compared to the Erdene Zuu monastery )))
