Don't underestimate comfort. Last festival I went to I brought a ton of gear with me to be comfortable and I got a lot of side eyes originally. We got the best sleep at camp and by the end of the festival people were praising our set up. Good sleep is so important!!!

Last weekend was my first festival. There's no such thing as being "over prepared" but it will 100% suck if you don't come prepared.

Highly recommend a queen size cot rather than the large air mattress. When you put the air mattress on the ground (even with a pad underneath), they tend to deflate or get punctured. Especially after a night of parting. The cot keeps you elevated, plus you can store stuff underneath of it.

Definitely have seen all my friends that drive with cots! Wish I could fly with a cot! My air mattress has lasted for years now though so I'm still happy with it 😁

Something I noticed people who don't have car camping will make multiple trips to and from their vehicles. It is smart to get a folding dolly if you have a bunch of stuff for your camp. If you get the one's with the beastie tires, then you can make fewer trips with ease...
@LIVINGBYTHEFWORD

Yes exactly! You need a wagon to bring stuff in, or really need to limit what you bring especially internationally I've gone bare minimum!

Today everything is 5V power, and i mean everything, even laptops, and i bring my laptop sometime to festival, just get a 5V small solar panel, which you can use for hocking too, and use it to charge a powerbank, gety to heavy duty power banks and one charger during the day one you use that day and cycle them. power problem solved. vor cooling i learned something really good and cheap, get 2 insulated frigo bags, like the ones you buy at grocery stores, put 1 inside the other, and put 2 2 liter bottles of water frozen in them, and then add in what you need. after 3 days it was still warm, and you can drink that water too. the only problem is with drinking water, but i never go somewhere that isn't far away from a water source. so i just go and refill there.

For those who are traveling and do not want to rent pre set-up tents which can be pricey there are several sites that have packages or you can rent things a la carte and pick up at a local retailer or shipped to a UPS store, they include REI Co-op, Arrive Outdoors, Outodoors Geek, and Kit Lender.

What about a blackout tent? Good idea or not needed.
@LIVINGBYTHEFWORD
Жыл бұрын
I have no idea how well those tents work honestly! I'd read reviews and figure out if it's worth the investment. But another alternative is to put an ez up canopy over your camping tent and hang large tapestries or tarps to make your tent shaded. It probably could cool it down at least 10 degrees.

A six person tent for one person is too big for most festivals and only means that other campers have less space Sorry for being a Negative Nathan but that was incredibly triggering for me
@LIVINGBYTHEFWORD
6 ай бұрын
Depends on the festival. In the US it's quite common and fits the perimeter but in Europe or South America it can be easier to bring just a two person. I have two tents but I'm going to stand up and get ready in comfort now that I'm 37. It's perfectly acceptable. I'm sorry I triggered you 😞
