Hello I have a broody hen (1 of 6) and I would like some runner ducks.. Your video is ace as it shows it can be done! I just wondered when you seperated the 'chicklings' from the hen.. Did the hen snap out of being broody or did she continue? Thank you :)

We separated at 4 or 5 days and she was fine.

Poor hen. All that work, then denied raising her brood. It must have been difficult for the ducklings as well who imprinted on her and your family.

I know, it was sad.

Please can you say why you took the ducklings away from her? Would it not have been better to let her mother them and bring them up naturally? For them and her..... Just that I have a hen sitting on duck eggs at moment and wanted to leave her with ducklings if they hatch....

Yes, it would be fine to leave them with her longer!

It's a harsh world for chickums :( My lowest chickum in the pecking order came up behind the highest chickum of the pecking order and pecked her right in the butt. I was appalled but at the same time I was like....she had to come up somehow haha
