Hey Everyone, With the addition of the Char-Griller Auto-Kamado to my cooker stable, we’ve got to see how well you can cook a ribeye steak on a fan controlled grill. Fan controllers have been around for a long time, but I think this will be the first time I use one to do some actual grilling with. I love this technology when it comes to the outdoor cooking space as making fire management that much easier really cuts down the time it takes to learn for newcomers, and even if you’re a veteran of live fire, being able to set the cooker to watch itself just makes an afternoon of cooking that much easier. While we’ll be testing out the Auto-Kamado, we’re also going to try marinating a steak as well and seeing how much beefy goodness we can get pushed into this steak. So follow along and if you try this recipe out yourself, let me know what you think of it. #BBQ #cooking #pitmaster
Ingredients:
2 Ribeye Steaks
16 ounces of your favorite beef injection or marinate
4 Tbsp of your favorite steak rubs
Directions:
Remove steaks from packages and using a fork tenderize both sides of the steaks.
Place steaks in a ziplock bag and cover with the marinate.
Remove all air from the back and place it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Light the Auto-Kamado and bring it up to 600 degrees
Remove the Steaks from the bag, pat dry, and cover both sides with your preferred steak rub.
Place the steaks directly on the grate for two minutes, rotate 90 degrees, cook for 2 more minutes, flip over, cook for two more minutes, rotate 90 degrees and check internal temp.
Once the steak reaches the desired internal temperature of 125 or higher, remove from the grill slice and serve.
