Thank you! It is hard to believe everything I put the bike through. Performing preventive maintenance was key. Also thank you to @HarleyDavidson for the new frame that came out in 2009. If it did not have the rear subframe that unbolted, then this bike would have been totalled when I was rear ended. Now the challenge is finding another bike that will last just as long or longer to keep this one company when I am home😎

Most people don't ride that much, however I know Goldwing riders with well over 200K miles - one hit 285K before the shifter dogs wore out. That said, I know plenty of Harley riders with North of 100K, and more. It's all comes down to maintenance and respecting your machine.

On the primary, I have had the compensator replaced twice under warranty and no one noticed a problem with the tensioner. On my last three hole fluid change, I peeked in at it and it looked pretty good. I made a note to keep an eye on it each time for more wear. Also the fluid coming out of the primary looks really good other than the usual "gravy" the magnet on the plug gathers.

@@RRatedCustoms Let us know your maintenance schedule. Oil changes every 3000? 5000? Dino or Synthetic, etc. Also I'd love to know what kind of tires you run and the milage you generally get from them. (I've owned many Harleys, the hammer think is just a joke. But I sell or trade them long before they get anywhere near your kind of miles.)

I run Syn3 all three holes every 5k miles. That is until 115000 when the oil change kit came with Syn3 for the engine and a heavier weight synthetic for the tranny and primary. I will add Syn3 if needed though. Tires are stock Dunlop. I have run other brands on my previous bikes but the 2009 Ultra won me over with the longevity of the rear tire. I get about 10k plus out of the rear depending on surface texture and temperature.

My 99 ElectraGlide was part of the first gen TCs. The shop manual has nothing about the cam chain tensioners. I believe it was 01 or 02 when HD started making them part of the regular maintenance schedule around 20k miles. The inner spring loaded one behind the cam plate was wearing out too fast. My 99 got totaled out at 80K miles from an unlicensed driver pulling out in front of it. Never had the tensioners replaced. Then my 09 had hydraulic tensioners. They were good to go 80 to 100K. I traded up to the 14 at 68k miles. The 14 as you saw in the other video I sent you was not that bad at 89K miles. I did not want to hit 100K but the PHD mechanic thought it could have gone more than 100K.
