Awesome review as always. Love how you emphasize that the lightest stick isn’t always the best. I’ve said for years that it’s too hard to feel the puck with a really light stick. Always more important to have confidence that the puck is on your stick.

I've been a Trigger user since the 3D and I have the same thoughts as you. I loved the 3D and I REALLY loved the 4. Got the 5 when it came out and I just think we reached the point where it is too light. I find the 4's weight to be the ideal sweetspot between lightweight and durability. Had the same 4 for a year, no problems. My 5 broke in half from a puck shot block that hit the lower third of the shaft after its fifth use. Luckily within warranty and I got a replacement. We'll see how it goes this time around.

3 жыл бұрын
I’d challenge you on the 4 vs 5. The release of the 4 is fluid and closer to a mid kick style stick. You feel the pop release and it’s forgiving The 5 is more of a true low kick stick very high tight hand position and fast immediate release of energy On average in a rapid shot 5-8 mph harder per shot with the 5 over a 4 and ft3 an as2 Do agree to light can occur.

I use a ft3 pro 75 flex but when I tried out this stick in a 75 flex it did feel unbalanced and off when Stick handling so I I tried it in a 85 flex and it felt perfect. I think Cause it’s so light that you have to go up in flex for it to feel balanced. Also if you are going from a 4pro to the 5pro the stick goes down almost 30 grams so it is quite an adjustment if you haven’t used anything like the ft3 pro which is 375 grams.
@HockeyReviews
3 жыл бұрын
Going up in flex doesn't affect the balance though, since balance is where the weight is distributed through the stick. I have also very clearly used the FT3 Pro, so going from that to the Trigger 5 Pro isn't a huge adjustment and was still an issue.
