JB... Just the video I needed to see and hear. I am 63 retired and am new rider to the three-wheel bikes and want to be very safe. My plan is to stick to the back roads with no traffic and learn the bike at my speed. I am also in agreement with if I want to ride it somewhere I will trailer it there unload and ride. Thanks for the video!

@@utuberatlanta As you get used to it, you’ll notice it just becomes natural. Honestly after a year I’m still increasing my comfort level. Take your time buying a trailer. Surprisingly, there is a lot to consider. I’ll do a video on some things to consider. Let me know how your riding experience comes along.

JB, Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I going to take it slow and easy. You have made me want to stick it out and decide weather riding is right for me . I also don't even have my motorcycle license yet. Doing my Can-Am class this weekend. Have rode a little around the subdivision is all so far. Just got it August 1st 😅. I saw your trailer video. Was thinking about an enclosed trailer to haul the Spyder to riding places. The trailer will have a multipurpose use. I do have a 12x6½ which I could use so we'll see.

We have a 2022 Spyder RTL chrome model & love it. Have changed out the sway bar & links , which makes it handle way better for me. But mostly it’s a confidence thing, which only comes with time, my wife found this by taking the BRP riding course . Ride safe regards Stephen Alberta Canada.

Hello. I purchased a 2021 in May of 21. After 50+ years of two motorcycles, it was different, but with age, it became a holding the motorcycle up with my wife on the back. The two of us have traveled all over the east coast and the mid-states. I kept my 21:49 for when I travel alone. Anyway, I became comfortable with riding it and am glad I got it. Enjoy watching your videos and hearing your experiences. That's how I learn. Anyway, I see you mentioned John&Miriam. Good people. You should try to make it to their meet-up in September. Good time and nice rides on the Skyline Drive. This will be my 3rd meet-up with them. Anyway, till next time, ride safe.

Yea I do. September 13th to the 16th. We are meeting up at Big Meadows Lodge. It is a nice, easy doing group. People we met last at the Blue Ridge Parkway meet up that John & Miriam year had from Florida Ray & Linda also met up at the us at the Maggie Valley Sypder gathering. That's in October. We plan on going. John & Miriam and Ray & Linda are also going. Ray know a lot of good rides around Maggie Valley.

For avoiding deer and other critters: have you practiced swerves and emergency stops?
@practicingretirement7732
4 ай бұрын
That is a great question. The answer makes me feel a little stupid. No I haven't. We did some very low speed stops and swerves in the Can Am class but, I've done nothing at speed. Have you done this and how did you go about it? Thanks, I'm going to work on this.
@oulupulu
4 ай бұрын
Don’t feel stupid, most riders don’t do this, and I’m way behind on my swerve practice as well 🫠 The idea comes from youtuber MC Rider, who publishes a field guide and advocates practicing braking, swerving, and u turns. Among other things. Find a quiet parking lot, or work them into a daily ride, and away you go. Ride safe!
@oulupulu

Just checked MC Rider, and he’s a little clickbaity these days. There are several motorcycle skill channels out there, most of the focus on two wheels. I have a two wheel and a spyder, and spyder braking is pretty impressive. It looks after you. For fast swerves on a spyder my best advice is to brace with knees and legs and hold on. Leaving in to the swerve is tricky , you make three sharp turns and holding with legs helps. Spyders are pretty precise, but it’s helpful to know how it feels should you ever need to swerve at speed. Same with braking, pushing down with your legs can counteract being thrown forwards. The ABS on spyders is impeccable, but the brakes can sometimes be a little soft, I find knowing how hard to press helpful.

It's just a suction mount . It covers have the gauges. I actually tied fishing line to the phone in case the suction cup came loose. I hope to find a better way to do this.
