The flip side of this is that as an autistic person I have a flat affect, and have been told by several neurotypical individuals that I made them nervous because they could not “read me”. The same thing happened in a museum exhibit with a computer system that was supposed to report emotional state from visual inputs. It read the other people I watched using it fine, but it never got a read on me and gave up. 😐

I know that when they're crying the person is probably sad, but I wouldn't even know how contempt would look and how it would differ from a disgusted expression. I’m autistic and I actually did really well on the tests. The first I got a 67% and the second I got an 8/10. I wonder if this strength has to do with my artwork. I’m always drawing people’s faces and different expressions in my art. I think it’s also telling that not being able to read faces is only one of the social weaknesses in autism. Despite my ability to read faces, I struggle with knowing how to act in social situations.

Lol, I got 58 out of 100 on regular expressions and a big fat 0 on microexpressions. I'm lucky that I get vibes off of peeps, so I can usually feel internally what emotion it seems the other person has. This only works in person tho, so I have more trouble IDing expressions in photos and video. Also kinda sucks cause when others are angry or anxious around me I have to leave the room and be alone for a while to not feel irrationally angry or anxious myself. It's like having hypchondria but for emotions instead of physical illness, so I get psychosomatic symptoms from other peep's emotions around me as well as for traumatic experiences others have had. I get sympathy pain for others in pain, usually matching the body area the other person's hurting in. My ptsd symptoms from my own trauma tend to activate when I hear about other's bad experiences, also, so my roomie's had to tell me to stop watching so much political content cause the injustice going on in the world, but especially the US where I am, really makes me angry for marginalized peeps and that tends to make my sensory issues and anxiety and depression worse for some reason. Basically I'm way too empathetic so it gets me, lol. I am happy to learn that ASD peeps can be empaths too, tho, figuring out I might be on the spectrum's made a lot of my issues make a lot more sense.

I'm not autistic...I think. I got 58% in the first, and 6% in the last test. In all Autism tests I could find I scored extremly high. I have PTSD. My first intention when going to a psychologist was to see if I had ADHD, because the teachers at my school were suggesting it. She diagnosed me with PTSD and suspects social anxiety, OCD, ED and depression. She also told me that while doing my IQ test she had noticed that my thinking pattern was very different (she couldnt articulate how exactly). I did an autism test with my mom (she answered what she thought of me) and I still got the autistic median. I'm so confused. I'm very empathatic, not very polite to be honest and I feel weird even asking myself if I could be autistic. ...help Only my elemtary school, an autistic friend and randoom people suggested it, manly when I was nonverbal, noticing small details or infodumping (often about autism). So yeah have a wunderfull life randoom human being that has taken the time to read this. 🦋

These tests are unfair and not realistic actually. In real life we would have context and body language in addition to probably knowing the person somewhat. They would also be authentic, not just acting. I do think I read people pretty well, more so than non-ASD people. However, I mask big time when someone is offended by my bluntness. I act like all is well after telling someone off if they were rude to me or asked a really stupid question. I answer rhetorical questions and sarcastic statements with logical responses and answers. I don't do it all the time. But if I'm sick and tired of stupidity coming from them or is the same stupid rhetoric then I bring out the truth and logic and then act like all is well even though I know it will piss someone off. I am a kind person really, but I just have a hard time with idiotic behavior. 🤭 Is that wrong of me? Maybe sometimes. But not always.
