I remember wanting this case and seeing the GN review were they had to do this. I like that you only did it in the effected area. I did this to a Geeek Acrylic case though, way cleaner and easier with plastic.

originally built a budget APU system in a q300l so i wasnt overly concerned with thermals. now that i have since upgraded it to a r7 5800x and a 5700xt it is a little oven. ended up 3d printing new front and top panels and cutting the old ones out completely. ended up getting an 8c drop on CPU and 9c on GPU.

This case is far from perfect, but it's not terrible either. I run a RTX 3080 FE and Ryzen 3800X. I have a 120mm Arctic on the lower front as intake and another one upper back as exhaust in addition to the stock exhaust fan. My CPU max temp is 75C under synthetic 100% load and GPU max temp is 70C. If you don't live in a tropical climate and are looking to build a cheap mid-range gaming setup this case is more than adequate for its purpose.

Dang, I just bought the case purely based on aesthetic. 3 120mm intake fans, 2 in the front and one on the right top and the stock exhaust. My 3070 under max load stays in between 76C-83C It's not exactly tropical here where I live, but it's on the warmer side I suppose, room temp is 25C

@@AldairCrX Why not try having the top fan exhaust? see if that improves temps, 3 intakes is kinda a lot + the top as exhaust works quite well for me as I can feel it blowing the hot CPU air out of the case

@@Simpinski I bought a 120mm AIO for the CPU and the temps vastly improved. Now I have 3 intakes and 2 exhausts, under load the 3070 stays between 60C-72C The intakes are in the front and bottom front, the exhausts are on the back and on the frontal part on the top (the radiator with a fan)

First time pc builder, went with this case because I liked it and it was cheap. Built a 5600x and a 7900gre in there, turns out it's not a very good case for airflow :D After I upgrade the rock bottom motherboard I went with, I plan on doing something like this. Don't let me build a PC for you.

I went with a really similar build with a 5600g and I'm planning to get a 7700xt, does the 7900gre work well with your processor, or do you think an upgrade is required?
@therealwhite

my particular use case does not the majority of this power and in the middle i went with a 5700x3d and steel legend b550m to mitigate any possible motherboard issues. 100fps 100hz is my target and i'm playing at 1440p ultrawide (higher resolutions need more gpu power but the cpu stays about the same) people say some games you will notice the difference, some you won't, personally i switched from linux to windows and everything felt a million times faster so i don't really have a solid answer other than reddit says it's probably not worth it to upgrade. i don't know that i would have ever noticed a bottleneck if there was one so i don't know what to tell you other than that i think your 5600g is going to be plenty of power for the 7700xt and not to worry about senseless upgrades :,D

just installed some new fans in this and it makes an awful howling sound (I assume this is air turbulence from the high pressure fans and the holes in the case). How should I fix this? I dont have a drill, was thinking about just removing the metal between the screw points with cutters so the fans take air directly rather than having to force it through the holes like a whistle.
@HardwareForGamers

You could, you just need to be careful about sharp shards of metal being left behind.

@@HardwareForGamers I loosened the screws holding the new fans in so that they have some clearance (around 5 mm) from the case wall, seems to have fixed most of the howling. think I should just get some rubber washers instead? would be simpler and less destructive.
