Take fenders doors and box for the rusty S10. And then you also have floor pans if yours needs them.

*Awesome video Mike!* 😁👍 Soooo glad to see you back at it! Whatever you decide to do with this s10, it's gunna turn out great! Crazy how things like that are abandoned. It probably cost a small fortune to manufacture back then. Take care, be safe and happy wrenching 🔧🔩

That transmission goes to a 82 - 85 model 1.9L 4cylinder. It's called the Isuzu S101. I have one myself so thats why the bellhousing looks so weird. Technically it's a isuzu transmission but still. GM.

So nice to see you back. I always enjoy your video work and also your subject matter. As far as the electric truck, I think you have a lot of pieces there to make something really interesting. From the early 90's until now, there is a lot of advancement that has happened in the battery and the charging world. First, it is going to take 10 deep cycle batteries in series to make this work. Lots of weight. A fellow youtuber, John Daniel, has a really interesting channel that I think would be of great help to you with battery options other than lead acid, though he is a fan of those as well. He also has electronic charging systems that would do a much better job than the charger you have. Industry has found that precise charging voltages maintained really extend battery life and that goes for lead acid as well as some of the newer technologies. John Daniel's site is mostly about stationary power, though he is dabbling in some mobile power applications and he is extremely knowledgeable and easy to watch. After watching John's channel, you might start considering some different battery technology that is way less than half the weight. Also, his solar and wind charging systems are extremely well thought out and very affordable. It would be really cool to have a truck that was charged by the wind and sun and drive that around. Good luck, you always find the most interesting stuff to work on and that is why I come here. Missed you!

i have seen the truck before and on YT, the man who built this did about 20 of them and a VW if i remember right. VW was his 1st, but trucks made more sense due to all the batteries. Basically it's a tow motor boosted up, but the trans helps with getting up to higher speed.

Seen one for sale in my area last year, Had been updated with a Tesla electric motor and had golf cart batteries. It was complete and affordable. Just wasn't something I needed without a garage to store it.

That truck definitely is unique. If you have the time patience and money to piece it together then have at it. From a practical standpoint it would be better to use it to repair your other truck.

When are we going to see a follow up to this? It's been a dream of mine to restore a 1986 S10 Tahoe, with the small fold down seats in back and make it electric. Maybe the electric mustang engine. But with my budget I'd be lucky to just get my hands on one. Keep doing what your doing bro.

Leave the paint alone and put an LS in it. The original truck, as it came from Chevy probably had a 2.5 Iron Duke I4 engine and the early S10 pickups had the option of a manual 4 speed so that's probably the original transmission.

Why not put this body on the rusty S10 chassis and make it electric. There's ways of getting around not having a title for this cab, T** S***. If this cab was 100%.
