You say that but games like this are still made. I know someone who plays one such game that was released in the past 10 years, he even has to type commands for certain things to happen. It's insane, ugly, patchy-feeling mess that he loves playing. I couldn't understand how he has the patience if I tried.
@moeneet7069

understandable it's an old school roguelike the game doesn't actually have graphics just characters marking things in the game world when he pulls up the map that's actually what the game looks like without the tile set he's using. These kinds of games are insanely hard to wrap your head around and you can play as a gigachad and still lose to bad rng. These are the kinds of games where you should read the wiki to understand wtf is going on.

I like this scripted style that is a lot more calm and directed. I think it would be great for one-off series or special videos, and I also think that if you do CDDA videos again it would be a better fit. CDDA is so much more dense and complex to understand compared to Zomboid, and I think your scripted calm narrative style with explanations of the game mechanics and your plans make it easier to follow.

in this game you dont have a zombie infection is a regular infection, the zombies are the host of a interdimensional parasite
@billfred9411
Ай бұрын
You are right that infections in game not being related to a zombie infection but saying the player is not infected is not totally correct. In this game every living thing is already infected by the blob. Every mutation in game came from Lab experiments originating from the blob. The reason character heal faster than normal is also a result of the blob infection. For about a quarter of the population the changes were unnoticeable. For about half the population, the blob causes an increase in risk-taking behavior, ranging from mild unsafe practices all the way to people attacking hordes of zombies with a stick. Once you die the blob will take over which means you dying a common infection will have the same results as dying from a zombie infection.

Cdda is a self writing survivor dairy, not an satisfying eye candy with 3D physics. I bet 5$ on that not even the +10y in Veterans have somewhat full 70% gasp of the game for the simple reason that it demands IRL knowledge of chemistry, firefighting, scuba diving, and military understanding of how to properly use friggin MRE's to get stuff done. I found that the most OP start possible is to start with the Fungal Infection scenario and take Black Belt as your profession. It makes it really easy to fight through the city to get to a Pharmacy with anti-fungal medication, and then you can just do whatever. Fungal Infection scenario is the best! With a proper build, it's just 8 free points!

C:DDA is an amazing game that is incredibly fun once you get the hang of it. It's definitely the survival game with the most content and longest progression to endgame that's I've played by far. 1000 hours in and you'll still learn new things, especially that the game get constantly updated if playing on experimental. My main complain about the challenge runs is that there is quite a huge luck factor but it's also a roguelike so that's fair. You definitely need the stars to align to make it out of the fungal infection, RDB (especially as a ''Tweaker'') and Migo camp (as a captive) scenarios specifically. Once you finally get a relatively ''safe'' space with access to water, it's really not so bad to get going, a bit like an Evacue start from there. It's the price to pay for min-maxing multiple and single pool characters.

I also do like the script style-video you've got going on here. I feel like the language you used here simulates what you would say in a "live" recording, and gives the video your own unique flavor. Scripting things after the fact also opens you up for jokes that would be hard to implement live, and you have already taken advantage of that here! I would not mind seeing more in the future. :)

I still enjoyed the video, but I think a lot of what I like about your videos is how good you are at live narration. Also I found this video really hard to follow. It might've been mainly my lack of familiarity with CDDA, but I felt like some of it was due to the way the editing and scripted commentary interacted with eachother. Edit: Just watched one of your older CDDA videos and I’m gonna say it’s definitely mainly because of how this one was edited 😅

I like to watch interesting gameplay videos on CDDA and I want to see more of it. Although CDDA is quite interesting mechanically with all the stuff you can do, especially the crafting, it's not a game that translates well into a gaming video. It's just way too long if record the whole gameplay so having a shortened video with all the interesting bits makes it a lot more watchable. And it is your Magiclysm video that got me interested enough to try the game, that and Sseth's review of the game
