One of my favorite verses: My God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (v19). God knows better than myself what I need and he promisesd to supply it (might be different from what I expected). What awesome and caring God and father we have! Inspired by you and others I started a ministry for biblical encouragment and challenges on this platform. Would be great if you have a look and join the journey 😊.

@@mr.c2485 Hey, no I'm not :). But one part of it might what I already mentioned in the comment, that we might have a different view on what is best for us then God has. Paul suffered a lot under a "thorn in his flesh", did God remove it after Paul asked for it three times? No, because he knew that it wasn't going to be the best for Paul. Out of experience and looking back I can say that the deepest sufferings I've been through have been most beneficial for me.

Daniels Den This is True! I started at six years old listening to Jesus within me and some where..Sunday School..I started listening to the Pharisees. (Christians who tell you who God is and what He wants for you). The biggest mistake in my life! From the moment I started listening to people my life was suffering! BUT after much suffering..I Returned to Jesus. I listen to Him..Alone..and my life is back on track. I have learned the Hard way. Do NOT listen to the Pharisees! This man standing up there to be seen and heard of men giving you false doctrine! The Only One Who knows what is Right for You..is Jesus HimSelf! Do Not listen to Pharisees!

I have found myself sobbing because of the great love of God! I remember hearing you preach at Los Gatos Christian as a new believer back in the 80s when I was 24. I am now almost 60 years old and although I have never left the lord, I felt like I could never do it right. Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Jeremiah Kirby Time is a very subjective topic. As we get older, the brevity that is our lives becomes increasingly apparent. Scripture offers some perspective on time, but it’s of little solace. One minute we’re a vapor, the next minute a day is as a thousand years. Why does it do that? Its like god is mocking our 70 or 80 years of life here as humans.

kathleen Wharton Is it possible to forgive someone and not love them? Now reverse that. Is it possible to love someone and not forgive them? I said that so that you may see the distinction between just saying the words and actually knowing that one does indeed forgive. Some would say yes to both propositions. Some would say no to both propositions. Some would say yes to the first and no to the second. Some would say no to the first and yes to the second. Now let’s have some fun. I’m sure you’ve heard people say, “ I hate the sin but love the sinner”. Which category would you place them in?

Mr. C I Love you! What loaded questions! I am going to answer truthfully. There is not one person in my life I have not had to Forgive! EveryOne! Some I Love and some I hate! But I forgive them. I found the main advantage to forgiveness was for me! So my mind did not have to dwell on their stupid actions. And my mind could be at rest and peace. In the old days I would think with emotion. Now I just think rationally. I realize they do things I really don’t approve of but it does not affect me adversely. It is just rational thought. Truth is Truth. You cannot lie to God anyway. It does not matter what you say..God knows how you think and how you feel. It is stupid to pretend. With some people I know..I consider not creaming them to be forgiveness. I have learned you just have to let most things go..to preserve your own sanity. I had some suffering and stress problems before I learned this however. I automatically sense..dislike and avoid selfish people. They have always ended up being my enemy. I dislike proud greedy people too. I loved people on the Metro and people who have adversity in life and overcome it and just stay with us every day. I love humble people. I hate proud pompous know it alls who think they have right to tell me who I should be and what I should do according to their little list of rules. This is more information than you wanted..I am sure! But I think I have a pretty sound mind about this Now! And it is no matter..it is who I Am!

Huey Leadbetter You’re going to have to decide how to love and forgive someone and not like them. Did Christ forgive you before you were saved? Did he love you before you were saved? Did he even like you before you were saved? Did he acknowledge you before you were saved? Did he care about you before you were saved? If your answer to these is yes, then what would it take for you to adopt these attributes of Christ?

This might sound nutty, but when I read Romans 4:4-5, I have a weird way of interpreting it, and I wonder how far off I might be with this: "Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as gifts but as his due. And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness." The work: I interpret "work" as "spiritual work", or in other words the work of sorting out and repenting from all past and continuing sins. The lessons found here would be one's due, until they reach a point where they have cleared themselves (through the light of Christ) of the attachments that lead them to repeating certain sins that inevitably continue the cycles of idolatry, to which each new lesson gifted from God would then be that of a gift, versus one's due. When we hold attachments and idolize anything, or refuse to move past any kind of bereavement, holding it/them over God and the word of God, we're propelled back into "the land of the dead" being called to do more work. Faith in the ungodly being counted as righteous: One that is not in the state of working, should hold faith in any who are temporarily justifying the ungodly (or are at work and in a temporary state of confusion/delusion), because if they don't, they're not only displaying a lack of faith in Jesus and faith that he could ever revive them, but they are then attached to that sinful person as well as feelings of resentment or loss which will cause them to be stuck on searching for a means to force the said sinner into repentance, instead of gracefully letting God work through them to help them help the sinner(/those who justify in the ungodly) to find their way to hearing the voice of God on their own again, through holding steadfast in faith and with patience. Therefore one who does not hold faith in those who justify the ungodly will end up falling back into sin for attempting to force the revival of another sinner, when these things happen on God's time and not our own. This would relate to the importance of not capitalizing upon transgressions, and sticking to capitalizing upon faith and virtue. Faith in those who justify the ungodly being something that is counted as righteous might simultaneously be referring to those who were born and raised in idolatry and made to believe that it was normal/correct, and had yet to find the word of God that would shed light on the destruction of it, perhaps letting them know that they do still have a chance to be saved/revived since they hadn't been consciously choosing to live a life of sin but were blind and simply trying to follow what they thought would make them a good person, in other words doing the best that they could with what they had (which is what I believe we're all doing!), before finding/rediscovering the word of God... ? If I've messed this up somehow, or have read way to far into this, please do correct me! lol Thank you kindly for these videos, they are much appreciated! :)

Work is for those who read the Bible as a book of compliance. As you eluded to, it’s a vicious cycle that goes nowhere. The righteous read the Bible as a book of exposure. It exposes weakness in us which if accepted and realized as truth, offers one the power to forgive and be compassionate to others. In essence...how much do you love yourself? How can you love your neighbor as yourself if you are unaware of how much you love yourself.?

@@OTART-dk4tj Romans 4:5 is saying that believers who do not do the works shown to them in the Scriptures are nonetheless justified by faith "by the one who justified the ungodly" (the Messiah), that is, their faithfulness is treated as righteousness having said that we should consider what the Messiah said as with many other examples in the Scriptures where practising virtues, essentially learning to be a more kind and good-natured person, is commended and one of the ways we fulfil the essential meaning and guidance found in the Scriptures to 'work' is good for us, to learn to be kind and good is naturally good for our spiritual and thus personal well-being, we might well consider why the Messiah always guided believers to keep learning through the teachings and said the difference is between those who are wise and those who are not wise (Matthew 7:24 - 26), so it is obviously very wise and good for us to keep trying to learn from the guidance given to us let's keep trying to learn through the teachings good ways to live, most of all trying to learn to be kind and understanding with others (if carefully at times in a dangerous and saddened world, Matthew 10:16) He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? You are right that of course we can do things that please God. Nothing we do is untainted by sin, but that doesn't mean that it is all bad all the way through. I think even non-Christians can do things that please God to a certain extent. I think you are right that in Isa 64:6 the point is that the righteous deeds that the Jews at that time claimed to be doing were done hypocritically, so for that reason they were like a polluted garment. Isaiah isn't saying that fallen human beings can never do anything that pleases God.

@@urielmesenja1040 I doubt that Rom 8:8 means that nothing a non-Christian does can please God to any extent at all. Sometimes Scripture can make a comparison that seems at first glance to be making absolute statements about categories of people, although we are not meant to understand things so simply. For example, in 1 John 2:10-11 John refers to a genuine Christian as 'the one who loves his brother', and he refers to a false Christian as 'the one who hates his brother'. But it would be a mistake to think that John means that genuine Christians always have pure love that is unmixed with hate, or that false Christians always have pure hate that is unmixed with love. The reality is more complex than a literal reading of the text might lead us to assume. Similarly, In Rom 8:8 Paul says that those who don't have the Spirit can't please God, and he implies that those who do have the Spirit can please God. But I don't think this has to mean that those without the Spirit can never, ever please God even a tiny bit. I admit that the parallel between Rom 8:8 and 1 John 2:10-11 isn't a perfect one, because in Rom 8:8 Paul is talking about what people are ABLE to do, whereas in 1 John 2:10-11 John is talking about what people ACTUALLY do. But I still think my point stands.

The bible clearly says that those who are in the flesh cannot please God, because the flesh is totally hostile to God as it devoid of faith. No one, absolutely no one can please God at all, without faith, it is impossible. Anything that is tainted by sin, is totally tainted, that is why nothing we do can please God, or justify us before Him. God may have pleasure in His creation, but that is only because, it is still beautiful for what it is, since He made it, and He has a plan to redeem it. Without faith, it is impossible to know God, because faith knows that God exists and that He rewards those that seek Him. Without faith, gratitude to God is impossible, because the faithless reject God and don't give Him thanks, so when they use the things of the world, or do 'good' deeds, they are in fact worshipping themselves not God, who created the world and from whom flows everything good and beautiful and from whom all virtue is derived. If a person does not derive their virtue from God and knowing Him, they have no real virtue, if their boasting isn't based on knowing God they have no real reason to boast. It is impossible to do anything good, to any degree, without acknowledging God, loving Him and sending out the kiss of the heart in gratitude to Him. Anything that is not from faith is sin. You see, so much of human life is worship, indeed, worship is the activity of human life. And what it sin? Sin is using God's creation for selfish and proud purposes. How is sex made Holy? Through prayer and THANKSGIVING, without both, it becomes worship of something else, it becomes idolatry, do you see? Anything that is not from faith is sin. I hope this helps, please continue to consider these things, may God grant us greater understanding, amen.
